March 22, 201214 yr Just load her up to whatever and fly. That's how good the "flight model" really is. A little longer before T/O but hardly noticeable, and you will never notice anything while airborne even in severe weather (Maule). Anyway I don’t think that is the way it works on real life, loading or unloading fuel is while parked and engine off, or am I wrong? The fuel truck wont come near you if you have anything on, and please step out of the cockpit and stay away :)
March 22, 201214 yr Hook I read your post and did further testing, yes the Fuel icon appears after you move the plane, But I think you should be able to "dump fuel" while parked on the tarmac.I'll alert the HAZMAT Spill Response Team.
March 23, 201214 yr I find the best thing to do is to ignore the weight limit for now. Since there is only one cargo plane, and a lot of cargo far to heavy for the specified limit. I've found some that even if you dumped all fuel, you'd still be quite a bit over weight for take off. Best thing to do is to take off anyway, and take whatever fuel you think you'll need. Just be careful and as gentle as possible on landing! :)
March 23, 201214 yr I agree - its a neat feature that will be much more important when the heavy iron comes to Flight...I always set the fuel in the hangar (aircraft selection window)...I didn't know you could "dump" it on the ramp...that is NOT to regulations naturally...It would be great if a fuel truck rolled up whether you selected to add or "dump" fuel...at the big airfields anyway
March 23, 201214 yr I reported the problem with having to move before the F appeared in the beta forum back in January or early February. It's not exactly a major problem. Just load her up to whatever and fly. That's how good the "flight model" really is. A little longer before T/O but hardly noticeable, and you will never notice anything while airborne even in severe weather (Maule).How interesting. Having flown an FSX plane in all sorts of overweight conditions to figure out how it changes things, I can definitely say that the handling does indeed change in Flight, often dramatically. You'll seldom be as overweight in the Maule as I was in that FSX plane, so you may not see much difference, especially if you don't know what to look for.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 23, 201214 yr Try a burger run from Bradshaw in an Icon.you'll need lot of patience and a steady hand.The climb out is dreadfully slow at that altitude.
