Wish one is more realistic?

Featured Replies

Hello,I just have a question! Which one do you think is more realistic between the PMDG 737 and the PMDG 747?I read everywhere that the 747 is so incredible, but I have many things (small but still) that are not simulated, as the oxygen mask, many forward knob, some communication panel,... Is it normal? Thanks a lot. Sorry for my english and if I didn't mention things you need.

I'd go with the NGX. Almost everything is simulated, apart from security features which were left intentionally unsimulated, you get everything. Hydraulic and electrical systems working and responding to any change you make to the A/C. It goes as deep as random service failures.

I may not be in the best position to advise as I do not have the 747, but the general consensus here along with my personal experiences with the NGX would be that the 737 is probably the most complete and most realistic of all FSX passenger jets available today, if not the most complete and realistic of any FSX aircraft!Pretty much every system that exists in the real thing is included and modelled appropriately - it is a truly magnificent beast and worth every penny. It may well be that the upcoming revamp - 747 v2 - from PMDG may bridge the gap and bring the jumbo up to the same standards, but for now, if you want accuracy and realism the 737 is your tube.

Cheers!

I would not suggest buying the 747 right now considering a new version is coming that brings the old up to the NGX level. There may be no discount for owners of the first gen 747.

Get the 737. The 747 is great but is outdated compared to the 737.. Also 747 version 2 is coming sometime so best to wait for that rather than to fork out the $55 now then whatever the new version would cost.I guarantee you will not fly anything else!

The 737 and 747 are simulated very well, with nothing big missing from either except the typical PMDG lack of caring about weather radar. There are no systems missing from that 747 that are not also missing from the 737 but as everyone said there is a new version of the 747 coming out later this year so wait for that and enjoy the 737 now. Personally I still love the 747 just because I'm a Queen fan.

Get the 737 now, then save up and get the 747 version 2 when that comes out later.

Thanks everyone! @"Gear Up and Off": it's exacly what I said, and it's strange! For me, there's many things that are not simulated, as the oxygen mask test, some buttons on the front panel, and on the "roof panel"...
