Smooth flying but with a constant lag

Hai Bill, i have a ATI Radeon HD 5850 and no problems at all, shall i send my fs9.cfg? backup yours, replace it with mine and see if the stutters are still there?

Tried yours, the elastic band stutters are still there. Not at first, but once I start looking around left to right in the cockpit (No VC) they start coming back.

I dont get any of those annoying stutters when running in windowed mode, only in full screen mode. However I get some tearing in windowed mode. I have VSync on too.

Ok, I've had it. It still stutters even in Windowed mode. I don't know what else to do. I reinstalled my x1950 pro and runs without those annoying stutters. I'm at a loss. If anyone has anymore ideas, please don't hesitate to tell me. Now I have a extra agp video card.

Could there be something on my panel that would be causing this for certain video cards and not others? I starts happening when I look left and right, and sometimes not right away too. Here is my panel config for my 767-200. When I turn off the bitmaps for the side cockpit views, it will be smooth, when i turn on the bitmaps, then the stutters begin. Weird.

Tired again this morning, but the stutters came back when the weather showed up with heavy clouds. Not little stutters, full on rubberband style stuttering and the frames where jumping all over the place from 30 to 18 , then 30 to 20 and so on. This was with vsync off too. I quickly uninstalled the drivers and card, installed the older X1950pro card and its drivers and loaded the sim, same load of clouds showed up and the frames were just a tad lower from the new card, however, NO STUTTERS. I have no idea why my computer does not like this CPU and video card combination for FS2004 only. All other applications and games run the new X4670HD card flawlessness.

Just a shot in the dark.

Try removing the line "render_3d_window=1" in windows 31 - 36.

Ive tried setting render_3d_window=1 to render_3d_window=0 with no luck either. I also tried it with the default cessna and the same issue happens

Seems to be a Flightsim issue since all my other games work great

I would really love to use my Radeon 4670HD card compared to my Radeon X1950Pro, but my true love is my Flight sim. There has to be something that is causing these elastic band lag on my system only on FS9. If it was doing all this with my other games, then it would be a hardware issue I would guess, but just flight sim makes me scratch me head on it.

And when the lag starts up, the frames are all over the place (high to low, high to low). Now it cant be a process in the background, since this does not happen with the X1950Pro card.
