March 30, 201214 yr I do basically the same, but i image my drive from time to time. If it crashes bad or if i want to restore my functionality to some point back in time, i just image back to the disk. I usually keep 3 disk images which i do every ~3 months. Before you ask, it's a 240GB SSD and the images use around ~70GB compressed. It's a lot of data, but it's also huge security. March 30, 201214 yr Author Thanks for your replies but:I have fsx on a dedicated physical drive (F). All windows programms are on the other physical drive C.The question again is which other folders/files (except the fsx folder in drive F) need to be copied from drive C.For example the files in the "users" folder etc. Thanks,Christos

March 30, 201214 yr Yep solution like Acronis or what ever are the best, is useless to backup folder of FSX.
March 30, 201214 yr I use Norton Ghost for this task. My FSX + OS drives takes approx 200 GB, 120-130 GB when backed up with compression. You can create the copy while in Windows, restoring is done offline (CD startup). It saved me few days, if not a week or more (complicated, add-on extensive setup). Please arm Yourself with such a tool and keep at least two backups of FSX + OS drives (in case the last one has something screwed).Backing up both discs (OS on SATA2 SSD, FSX on VelocityRaptor) takes 35-40 minutes (depend if PC is idle or I tweak something), restoring takes about 50-60 minutes. March 30, 201214 yr That's definitely the best method. There are far too many folders to backup and files spread throughout the disk. If you forget an important one, you render most of the backup useless.
