Installing 600/700 expansion pack after fs2crew?

Featured Replies

Hi,Just broke down and bought the expansion pack for the NGX. I already have the NGX FS2crew installed. Do I need to uninstall that first and then reinstall to get FS2crew for the 600/700 models? Or can I run the installer again and it will install over the expansion models? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,James

Hi, Just run the config manager again, turn fs2crew off then on again and everything should be fine.

I did the same thing just a few days ago. I bought and installed the 600/700 expansion after having the 800/900 and FS2Crew working with no problems. I didn't get any errors with the PMDG installation but it did cause some problems. I started having problems with "are you sure about that" response to checklists and not being able to contact the ground crew, etc.Turning FS2C off/on did not help and neither did uninstalling and re-installing FS2C. I have not tried a complete uninstall of NGX and FS2C.What did work for me was loading the NGX in 2D mode, starting FS2C, then switching to the virtual cockpit. It works perfect every time. While the 2D mode is a small hassle, it's not too bad.

Don't forget to patch to SP1C for 600/700 ;)

The download that I got from PMDG already was patched to 1C.

Installed the 600/700 pack, downloaded the 1C patch for it, ran that but it assured me the installation was already patched to 1C. Disabled and re-enabled fs2crew. Now I'm getting "are you sure about that" and other issues, when I didn't have a single issue before (after running many flights). I do start in the 2d cockpit but I haven't tried not switching to 3d until after opening fs2crew. I'll give that a shot.

Nope, starting fs2crew in the 2d cockpit does NOT solve the problem, unfortunately. I still get a consistent "are you sure about that?" to the window heat challenge in the preflight checklist, even though the window heat is definitely on. I also noticed that the copilot isn't configuring the pressurization panel (crz and landing altitudes).I may have to try reinstalling everything from the ground up in the hope that it solves it.James

Glad you got it sorted. However, the Service Pack itself probably didn't kill it the problem. What killed the problem was probably the act of install SP1c and installing FS2Crew again.Cheers,
