p3d shading vs FSX shading/colors

Featured Replies

does anyone know what the name of the shader file is that controls that redish/mud like effect is called as it might be worth trying to do a manual edit to see if we can fix it and share.

I copied the FSX shader folder and saved it then replaced it with the shader folder from P3D and everything still look that same in FSX. I thought for sure that would do it, but what do I know.

Hi Bob,

Did you remember to clear the shader cache as it would need to rebuild after a change like that.

Yep, did that Gandy. Weird huh? You would think that would have done it.

There was not a complete file for file match. I believe that P3D had less files but cannot remember which folder that was.

That's great news. Let's hope the patch comes soon.

They seem to be going quite slow with the updates. I wouldn't expect to see the 1.4 update until late summer of 2012.

I think that is the ultimate reason they don't want a consumerism attitude in their market... Which is fine by me... the code was never getting worked on by MS so at least I know sometime in the future issues will get addressed.

Because they are working on other stuff as well. The next update will come out when everything in their tray has been dealt with and that includes known bugs.

I would rather they take there time and get it right than rush it and maybe introduce more bugs.
