April 3, 201214 yr Hello! Have somebody ever noticed the boring noise that begins the second you have electrical power in the plane, something like "clicclicclicclicclicclicclicclic". It might be one of the first sound you hear when you begin from cold and dark. Is it a problem with me? Do you know the solution? Tkx!
April 4, 201214 yr The sounds you hear from this J41 are authentic to the real J41. Perhaps a little loud, but so is the real J41. Johnny Rosario
April 4, 201214 yr You mean this sound, right? (Starts when batteries turned on) That's normal. Also, FYI please read the pinned topic "Read before posting", PMDG require full names in the forum. Steve Caffey
April 4, 201214 yr Author Yeah! It's exactly that! Is it normal that it never stops? And ok, I'm going to read it when I come home tonight. Thanks
April 4, 201214 yr Yep, it is supposed to make that noise whenever there is power to the aircraft. I think that specific noise is coming from the standby gauges. Steve Caffey
April 5, 201214 yr Start the Garrets, and You will not hear it anymore :) Yeah, that'll solve that.. I gotta get back into that plane, the NGX has been taking all my attention. Steve Caffey
April 5, 201214 yr What did you say ??? Sorry !!! I can't hear you over those TPE331s ... Please speak a little louder :LMAO: Cheers -- Peter Edrupt
April 6, 201214 yr The continous clicking sound you hear is the standby altimeter vibrator. It is standard on mechanical altimeters in airliners. It's there to keep the altimeter needles from geting stuck. When we had them in our 737s it was not uncommon to see the circuit breaker for the vibrator pulled when you arrive at the plane because the previous crew pulled it to get rid of the clicking noise. Real world pilots get annoyed by it too. Fortunately we have converted all our 737s to the ISFD so it is not an issue any more. Tom Landry
