AP Failure after Ap disconnect via Yoke.

Featured Replies

Hi

After I, by an accident turned off the AP, by pushing my yoke. I couldn't turn on CMD A, I noticed that the failure for AP 1 was activated after I've pushed the yoke.

Is this normal??

Yep, in the real thing a strong enough force will shear the rivets linking the yoke & ap actuators. I believe it's built that way intentionally so there's no risk of damaging anything more expensive. It can't be fixed until you're on the ground.

did you check the ap disconnect bar below the cmd a/cmd b buttons? if that is pressed down u wont be able to engage the ap again unless u set it back into its normal position!

Yes the disconnect bar was in the up position :) And I was able to connect CMD B (First officer AP).

Kenneth: Thank you for your reply, now I know it wasn't a bug...

Mr. Ken is correct, in real life the shear pins have to be replaced on the ground. In the PMDG NGX, you can fix this in the air via the FMC.
