April 8, 201214 yr Hello, I'm pretty mad right now. I brought a brand new computer to enjoy FSX on higher settings, I do get good FPS indeed, but the trouble is almost nothing is working properly. I installed some sceneries and airplane addons. The sceneries are working perfectly, but the airplane addons are running awfully. The exterior model of the QW757 only exists of some weird black stains, FSX always suffers a CTD when trying to load Leonardo's Fly the Maddog 2010 and there are no displays working inside the flight deck of the feelThere 737PIC, all are black. The Flight1 ATR appears to be the only airplane addon working perfectly. I do not have all the other addons installed so far due to these errors. My system specs are the following: Intel Core i7 4x 3,4GHz 8GB of RAM GTX 560 1,2GB Windows 7 64bit I'm always running FSX as admin, FSX SP1 and two are installed. Any solutions out there?
April 8, 201214 yr Deep breath, read this post....its funny, and know you are not alone. I unfortunately do not have any of those planes to be able to talk you through it, but there will be solutions to those addons. Take your time, it will come. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/369053-orbx-should-warn-us/page__pid__2330459#entry2330459 I experienced a major computer reinstall two years ago with my i7 920 and spent days getting stuff installed and working. You will get there. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
April 9, 201214 yr 1).Is FSX installed in it's own folder - outside of the default C:\Program Files?, and 2). Is the UAC slider all the way to the bottom? i.e. Off? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
April 9, 201214 yr Just in case: Did you install them as administrator? As for the ATR, in cruise when I press VNAV and try to go to page two, I get a crash EVERY time. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
April 9, 201214 yr make sure you didn't install FS nor any addon in winXP mode. -- D. Scobie, feelThere support forum moderator: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/169-feelthere-support-forums/
April 9, 201214 yr Author FSX is installed in the right directory. I now switched off the UAC slider and Leonardo's Fly the Maddog is now working perfectly, thanks so far. But I'm still suffering a CTD when loading the QW757 and even the displays in the 737PIC are still black. When I have selected e.g. the Maddog, I hear cockpit sounds even though I'm still in the menu?!
April 9, 201214 yr What you say about the Maddog's cockpit sounds in the menu, don't worry, I have that too. As for the Wilco PIC, are just the displays black, or do none of the gauges actually appear? Finally, for the QW757, I advise asking at the QW forums. April 9, 201214 yr Until now I didn't notice, but yeah, all the gauges are dead. did you approve the gauges the first time you started FS after installing the plane? did you re-approve the gauges the first time you loaded the plane into the game? -- D. Scobie, feelThere support forum moderator: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/169-feelthere-support-forums/
April 9, 201214 yr Author Yes, I selected the plane, FSX asked me whether to load the files and I approved. After the first installation appeared a message saying the addon was not installed properly and suggested I should install the addon again with the appropriate settings. I did so, so I assume this has nothing to do with the issues?
April 9, 201214 yr Nah, I get that with pretty much everything I install in Windows 7. When you say the gauges are dead, do you mean that they display, but do not work, or don't they even appear? If it's the former, I think you aren't supplying the plane with power. Often FSX loads these complicated aircraft with "default settings", being engines running and battery on. However, the generators are not connected to the engines. As such, there is no power to power any of the gauges, so that all gauges are dead. If it's the latter, you should probably uninstall and reinstall. Something must have been misplaced... April 10, 201214 yr Author With dead I mean that the gauges don't even appear, e.g. I have no numbers in the MCP, and I cannot press any buttons in the overhead, nothing happens. Will do so, thanks.
April 10, 201214 yr the gauges don't even appear reads exactyly like FS and/or Win7 are blocking the gauges from loading. IMO it is the latter. -- D. Scobie, feelThere support forum moderator: https://forum.simflight.com/forum/169-feelthere-support-forums/
April 10, 201214 yr Commercial Member Enable hidden folders, and go to your username / Appdata / Roaming / Microsoft / FSX, and there you should see xml file called dll. Backup it somewhere and then remove it from your Microsoft / FSX folder. After that uninstall at least one of your addons that are not working, and then reinstall it. If it works after that you probably have had corrupted dll.xml file, Wilco addons sometimes corrupt it and that may cause this kind of behavior. I recommend to make backup from that file every time before installing complex addon with dll files, especially Wilco ones.
