Aerocache today was interesting to me. 552 Kokee Road, Kauai. A few years ago I drove that road up through Waima Canyon and remember seeing that station. Also 5000 XP. Not easy to find, good luck.

It stands out like a beacon on top down view. Just fly from the designated airport over the highest hills in the area. You'll pass a clearing with more antennas, then a bit farther in the same direction is the aerocache site.

I didn't have much trouble finding it as soon as I got oriented. Been back 3 times today just getting points. We'll see if they stick when the server problems are fixed.

Pretty cool cache. I also roamed around the island building time and found where several other caches are hiding. I'll be back to get them when time allows.

 

I'm not much of a gamer, but with my FSX computer down, this is all I've got. I've actually come to enjoy it.

I also came across a couple in flying to it, but couldn't get close enough. So after getting the radar one, I forced a landing and hiked back. I picked up another three or four caches, then found my way to the plane again.

Yeah, that one threw me off a little, The hint says it's on 552 - Kokee Road, but 552 actually ends far south of there. It's on 550, which on the Bing map is called Waimea Canyon Drive. Google maps calls it Kokee Road.

 

So now I know to check Bing and Google.

@188AHC, in regard to your Flight server problem comment;

 

I noticed the 'cache of the day never recording as collected if one exited Flight and then re-entered. I saw that that 'cache of the day only scored once under "Aerocaches:" in one's pilot profile but the experience points continued to accumulate (at 5000 a pop). I was motivated to comment somewhere on this but I see the server problem is noted by you and others.

Again today, the daily aerocache has 3 stars which usually means 3k xp but the payout is 5k xp. Seems like all kinds of little gremlins are crawling out of the depths of the server. :yahoo:
