April 12, 201214 yr I have REX installed and am considering getting GEX and UTX for Europe. Will these all work together? Regards David James Jenner
April 12, 201214 yr They actually should work together, since REX only improves sky and airport textures, while GEX brings new ground textures to your sim, and UTX landclass. Florian
April 12, 201214 yr Yup they work together beautifully. I think GEX needs to be installed after UTX but it could be the other way around. Try googling that. Lee
April 12, 201214 yr I see this a lot so please understand that UTX is way much more than just land class. It also provides accurate coastlines, rail and road networks, inland water features such as rivers, lakes and streams and much more. Yes, very accurate but it's main function is still to replace FSX's default landclass. GEX brings new ground textures to your sim To expand, GEX replaces your default FSX textures and each texture has been modified to provide better performance, better FPS, for FSX scenery. REX will enhance some of those textures even further. Best regards, Jim

Best regards, Jim Sorry Jim, don't agree. Landclass replacement is but a fraction of what UTX offers as a package. If I was purely interested in landclass it would be simpler and cheaper to install a landclass only product such as the FSG USG project. Improved urban landclass is pointless without the underlying terrain accuracy adjustments that UTX also makes. April 12, 201214 yr I run all of these and have had no conflicts at all. In fact, very happy with the results. Always remember to Find Your FUN! -Bob
April 12, 201214 yr Sorry Jim, don't agree. Okay. It was just my thoughts. You probably are right. Thanks for setting me straight! Best regards, Jim
April 12, 201214 yr Clearly I bothered you with my reply which was not my intention at all. It was neither rude nor disrespectful. Simply a statement of disagreement and the reasons why. Nothing more, nothing less. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD

Nothing more, nothing less. I understand Glenn. Not to worry. Your response did not bother me at all. I think AVSIM forums is where flight simmers can make comments about FSX products and others can politely disagree (like you) and then we can intelligently discuss it. I just thought UTX was totally a product to replace the default landclass and, as a plus, we have more roads, bridges, better lighting, beaches, streams, lakes, and other bodies of water. Plus, if we have GEX, the developer for that product (NickN) has added some enhancements to the product. Good communications, oral, in-writing, and other methods (okay, we can't show our hands here -LOL), is sometimes difficult and one reader will see or read it differently from another reader. That's why we have world wars sometimes. Language issues also complicate things here at AVSIM as many of us do not have full command of the English language. I have read a lot of your comments about FSX in the past and I have total respect with your comments. Best regards, Jim
April 12, 201214 yr Jim, Understood. My apologies as from your last post I read it and it came across with a sarcastic tone which was clearly not your intention either! You have a good point regarding the lack of face to face communication...... April 12, 201214 yr SceneryTech Lanclass Europe, UTX Europe, GEX Europe, AS2012. Very happy with results I get, decent fps to http://www.4shared.c...-43-51-843.html
April 13, 201214 yr I consider these three programs as essential to have for my installation of FSX. Really transformed it into a beautiful thing. Not sure of any install order, I can say I purchased and installed them in this order, and have great results: UTX GEX REX2 I am extremely pleased with the results, and really looking forward to the massive update to REX2 - Essentials.
