April 18, 200422 yr This is simply a fantastic program that fills a huge hole and is deserving of some big time awards at the least!I had a whole problem with crashes which were my fault-however this might be helpful:I installed late at night last night and was in a hurry-dragged a copy of program icon onto my desktop. Had lots of crashes-couldn't find this and that-I should have made a SHORTCUT.The second thing-if I multitask-e.g. read email, surf the web, while it is compiling-it either crashes-or gives the appearance of crashing-I haven't figured which. I ended up having to turn my screensaver off-when it would come on-the program would seemingly crash. Now working great! Thanks again!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
April 18, 200422 yr hi!sorry, i didn't have time to look more closely (also because of the occasional loading freeze, scanning installed aircraft) but it sure looks like the program has a great potential. it's definitely excellent as far as beta versions go. i particularly appreciate the fact that it doesn't mess up the fs9 installation in any way, so you're free to experiment.:-)since it's a beta, perhaps a suggestion might be well received: there is one piece of functionality that i am sure many would find useful (if it's there already i couldn't find it, apologies)... be able to select ONE type of aircraft and generate ONE type of activity at ONE airport. in particular, i'm thinking of 2-3 skyhawks doing touch-and-goes at my field. i think you can do it now by unchecking all checkboxes for all aircraft but one, so it's more of an interface suggestion than anything else. but how about selecting a single airport?anyway, just my usual ill-informed rambling...good stuff!vilk
April 18, 200422 yr Hi Geofa,I think it look only that it crashed, because it didn't update the 'working' window. I haven't figured out to manage that, without slow down the generation even more. Maybe next BETA?On my PC, Pentium 4 2400 MHz 1 GByte Ram, it took over 10 minutes to generate the Flightplan and 1-3 minutes for TTools to finish it. So if it responds for more than 20 minutes it crashed, but most time it still working. Currently the only way to check is the Taskmanager if the task is at 100% or the memory usage is going up it is not crashed.Sorry for that, will look for a way to update the window.
April 18, 200422 yr Hi Vilk, sorry but your suggestion isn't possible without change big parts of the program. I suggest yRoute from Spacejock Software or another AI managing tool.Could you describe at what aircraft it hangs? The ALPHA tester didn't have problems at scanning aircrafts, so this is probably a new bug?
April 18, 200422 yr thanks for your replyi'll check out the leadit freezes on aeroplane heaven's seafirehttp://www.aeroplaneheaven.com/
April 18, 200422 yr A couple questions... if an airport does not have parking within FS9, will GA-Traffic still add traffic to the airport? Will the program use TTools to add GA T&G's to the airport? Thanks,Greg
April 18, 200422 yr >Hi Edam,>do you install the program in a seperate directory?>(GA-Traffic)>Could you describe at what point it crashed, esp. what did you>do at last?Hello Markus,Yes, I instlled it to c:GA-TrafficAfter "read and process" all the bgls, I get this...
April 18, 200422 yr OH NO !! For some reason I can't download anything from the Library !! Could some kind soul send me a copy of this prog please ? You can contact me on MSN. Addy is vapour_warrior.Thanks guys !

April 18, 200422 yr markusi have been trying unsucessfully to download ga-traffic from the avsim file library.the problem is that it is asking me to log in to download and will not accept my username/pw.obviuosly i am logged in.my question is, is there any other plance on the net to dl ga-traffic?thanksdon
April 18, 200422 yr Greg - I saw a Maule landing at a tiny grass strip then it dissapeared so it seems the program also creates flights to airports without parkings. I think that's good actually - you only need to add the parking spots to your favourite small field and the AI aircraft will park there after landing. Two new small problems I encountered:1. I'm seeing a lot of DC3's and Trimotors. I tried setting the percentage very low (1%, then 0.1%) but they still show up everywhere (2-3 of them at some airports). I guess I can just disable them but it would be nice to have the chance of seeing a DC3 or some other vintage plane every now and then. Some are stil flying and it's not totally unrealistic that you would see one...but 10 of them on the same 40 mile flight? It seems to work fine for other vintage planes - I only encountered a Jenny and a Comet once - it's just the DC3 and Trimitor.2. The program does not always keep settings. For example if I uncheck S (Student) for an aircraft, the next time I start the program it's checked again. Same with percentages, "Use for GA" and other settings.Great program - Downloaded a ton of freeware planes from the library to try them out. The "Make AI" button is a great feature - I'm not sure how much reducing texture size helps (some planes feature very detailed 3d models that slow things down even with lowres textures), but it's handy to be able to quickly swap to another airfile in case the AI can't fly the plane with the supplied one. -
April 18, 200422 yr "I saw a Maule landing at a tiny grass strip then it dissapeared so it seems the program also creates flights to airports without parkings."Thanks, Jimmi. I can hear radio traffic at airports other than my home... traffic I never heard before trying this program. But I've yet to see or hear anything at my home airport. Patience is a virtue, I guess. :-) Certainly is a fun program to play with. Offers some great enhancements for us GA fans.Cheers,Greg
April 18, 200422 yr nick, thanks for the info.i went to flightsim.com and got the "all nodes busy" for over an hour this am. i havent been able to dl from them for over 2 years and dont even bother trying anymore. i know others have no prob getting in but all i ever get is "all nodes busy", forever.don
April 19, 200422 yr Hi JimmiG,Yes GA-Traffic generate traffic at airports without parking spaces, it use 'virtual parking spaces' so if an airport has no or only a few parking spaces the program generates 'virtual' ones to make a better simulation of rela world. Too bad that AI planes didn't appear and takeoff from those airports :-(The problem with DC3 and Trimotor is that there are only a few Mid and Big size planes installed. GA-Traffic use the DC3/Trimotor for the mid and big sized GA parking places. This problems could be solved by installing other Big GA-planes, but I didn't know one. Another solution would be a programing change I think about. This function will alow smaller planes to ocupy the bigger parking places too. Will work on this additional function. The settings which are not keeped could result in you didn't press 'Apply'? If not, could you describe what plane?
