April 17, 201214 yr Hello NGX pilots. Does anyone know if there is anyway I can change the startup state in the aircraft file or other root readme files? I changed it in the FMC for the default load state (cold and dark), but it seems to not save it for the default load. i keeps loading with the "default systems ready" Thanks Sean L -Sean L PPL + IFR, SEL HP/Complex.. April 17, 201214 yr I am not near my PC now but you have to use panel loadstate to get to load that way. Not sure of the exact wording on the FMC. It is in the introduction manual; 4) STARTUP PANEL STATE: This prompt allows you select a saved panel state that you would like the simulation to use as your default panel condition every time the simulation is launched. For example, if you were to select a Cold and Dark scenario as the STARTUP STATE for the airplane, you will be presented with that cold and dark panel state whenever and wherever you choose the load the NGX Phill Dant
April 17, 201214 yr Author Im trying to use the loadstate, but its like it wont save as cold and dark. it still loads the default setup. ive tried a few different things, but it just keeps going back to default. -Sean L PPL + IFR, SEL HP/Complex.. LAS WN Ground Ops
April 17, 201214 yr You must start fsx by rightclicking the exe file and click on run as administrator. Or you can disable that damn UAC once and for all. Kind regards Peter
April 17, 201214 yr Or you can disable that damn UAC once and for all. just do it. You will save yourself a lot of headaches in and around FS. --Peter Fabian
April 18, 201214 yr Or just don't install to the default directory, install fsx to a c:\games\flightsim x for example
April 18, 201214 yr Author I'm quite new with 7, where can I disable the UAC? -Sean L PPL + IFR, SEL HP/Complex.. LAS WN Ground Ops
April 18, 201214 yr Type in msconfig in the windows search line at the bottom of the start menu>go to tools and it should be in the drop down menu. Just be aware though if you have installed fsx in the default directory- C:/program files(86) disabling UAC control will not completey disable all security features. You could still experience problems. Best thing to do is install fsx out of C: drive in it's own directory. Ash Hitchcock
April 18, 201214 yr Ash: I have it so, and with UAC off I have no problems whatsoever. Although having a proper admin account might be helping a bit too. But then, you wont be able to turn off UAC without admin account, so... --Peter Fabian
