April 18, 201214 yr First off, I don't want to copy Comanche's thread about his Space Shuttle flight. After seeing so many great pictures of yesterday's final flight for the Discovery shuttle, I really felt like doing this in my FS. Thanks to Kyle I finally found a very nice model to do this today (the POSKY SCA). So here's my take on the Discovery's last journey to the National Air and Space Museum. It brought back some great DC memories. May the Space Shuttle never be forgotten! For the full pictorial, please see my blog: A Tribute to the Space Shuttle

April 18, 201214 yr Author Great shots! Its sad to see it go. Just wish they had some sort of replacement for the shuttle. Thanks! You're so right. It's extremely sad to see the end of the Shuttle program. I grew up with it, lived through its ups and downs, and now see the end of this incredible piece of engineering created by mankind. I think even if they would introduce a replacement, it wouldn't be the same. The Shuttle just had something to it, something special. I remember looking at technical drawings of it as a kid, reading stories and reports about the missions, unable to understand how this thing could fly into space and return to earth afterwards.
April 19, 201214 yr I nearly shed a tear at the thought of the end of the space shuttle. Very sad to see the gov't axe the program.
