April 19, 201214 yr One thing that has always bothered me about Flight is that flying always starts in the air. I was fiddling around this morning and found a way to start from a specific runway at an airport. If this has already been mentioned (I didn't see it), then please disregard. Click on an airport which opens the airport info popup. Choose the runway you wish to use, and double click on it. You will then see your aircraft sitting on the runway you chose. Takeoff and fly. April 19, 201214 yr I am sure that those who didn't figure this out already will be very happy with your post.
April 19, 201214 yr Just on car you didn't know, the screen that you are using to select a runway is also the same screen you use to select jobs to fly.
April 19, 201214 yr And also, haven't seen this mentioned, pulling back on the joystick makes the trees get smaller. April 19, 201214 yr OzWhitey: Haven't heard that one in a long time! Thanks! :D The ability to start on a runway isn't obvious, so the OP is doing people a service. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
April 19, 201214 yr Author Thanks Hook for seeing the purpose of my post. Some of the above responses are the very reason I don't post very much. Just thought I would share something I had found and hadn't heard about. Guess that'll teach me won't it. Thank you. April 19, 201214 yr Just in case you didn't know, the screen that you are using to select a runway is also the same screen you use to select jobs to fly. Whoops, meant to edit my post, not reply to it
April 19, 201214 yr Some of the above responses are the very reason I don't post very much. Just thought I would share something I had found and hadn't heard about. Guess that'll teach me won't it. If you are referring to my post: I think you misinterpreted my reply... It was a bit tongue in cheek because I could hardly imagine someone overseeing the option you mention, but since you posted it and since you actually missed it I figured more people might have missed it too and hence my remark about others being happy with your post was sincere. Again, tongue in cheek but not meant harmful. As I posted elsewhere I am all against posting oneliners that are only meant to harm people. So PLEASE don´t let my remark stop you from posting new things you´ve discovered! What´s new to you can always be new to others too! We already have more then enough negative posters on this forum, so I am glad with every person who actually wants to contribute something in a positive way! :drinks:

April 20, 201214 yr I actually thought it would be an obvious giveaway, no offense. The only reason why is because if you wanted to start at a specific airport, you would either have to click on that airport, then the thing would pop up, or you would have to move your plane over that specific airport. I'm saying that I thought most people would tend to click on the airport naturally to start at that specific airport. Most people fiddle around with the map by clicking randomly. But thanks to everyone that got a nice tip from your fellow fliers! Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
