April 20, 201214 yr Hello fallows, i just wanted to let you know, how big the different between led screen and non led screens. i have just gotten a 24 inch led screen, actually it was design for a television, but wow, you can't really compare it to a non led screen like i used to have, which also was a 24 inch. it's a full HD 1920x1080x32, it's like i bought a new video card. i am sorry for being so excited but really it's one of the best things i have ever made for my rig, gear. cheers.! April 20, 201214 yr I want a 27 inch LED screen very shortly, currenlty have a crappy 22 inch Iiyama non-LED screen. D: I was also gonna buy a new 40 inch LED TV, can I use this as an FSX screen? Arjen Vandervelde
April 20, 201214 yr I've got a 32inch LCD tv as my primary monitor. It fills my field of view, so the immersion factor is even higher. Here's a pic, excuse the mess.
April 20, 201214 yr I think Chris has got it right. How bad I feel that "the wife" will never let me put such a screen on the desk. I struggled to convince her to put an old 19" monitor for FSCommander and pdfs hidden under a shelf, next to the main display... Oh what a party I would make with a 40" LED!!! :Loser: George Golas ---------------------- I hate gravity!
April 20, 201214 yr Commercial Member I want a 27 inch LED screen very shortly, currenlty have a crappy 22 inch Iiyama non-LED screen. D: I was also gonna buy a new 40 inch LED TV, can I use this as an FSX screen? You can use any size you want, I went from a 42" LCD back to 32" and the screen strangely felt quite small. I'm planning on trying a 50" LED when I get back to Bahrain. It defintely helps with the imersion. George, the key is to also buy your wife something nice so she wont complain! Rob Prest
April 20, 201214 yr Author yes, as mentioned you can use any size you want, make sure it's a led screen, wow what a different. Daniel choen
April 20, 201214 yr As you can see, the 32 is pretty much as big as I can go without having to get more desk space. I suppose though, if I were to go bigger, then I could wall-mount the new screen :good: yes, as mentioned you can use any size you want, make sure it's a led screen, wow what a different. I have noticed however, with the LCD, that text can be a bit blurry and hard to read. I run the tv in its native resolution, which helps a bit. Does the LED tv have this (very minor) issue?
April 20, 201214 yr Yes but there's always a difference between PC LED monitors and TV LED screens, or am I wrong? Doesn't the cockpit and everything look a little blurred because of the large pixel size? I think Chris has got it right. How bad I feel that "the wife" will never let me put such a screen on the desk. April 20, 201214 yr Guess you're right, but TVs have gone a long way. I think that LEDs are much better than the CRTs we had just a few years ago, so I don't think I'd mind with the slight blurring... As for "the wife". The desk is in a part of the living room so it's more "her area"... I need a room or better a vault! :Just Kidding: George Golas ---------------------- I hate gravity!
April 20, 201214 yr LOL, my desk is my bastion in my apartment. Everything else has one of my girlfriend's nicknacks on it.
April 20, 201214 yr If your image is looking a little blurred, make sure that you are using a digital source such as DVI or HDMI all the way from the card to the screen. Paul Smith.
