I asked for a link or locatable reference regarding this 'script'. If the SDK is not the only way to program something for X-Plane... feel free to direct me to official information on what other avenues are available for developers. Thus far I've found only SDK information at XSquawkbox.net and rudimentary information at X-Plane.com itself.

They're in your PM box.

No they aren't.

Please provide a link to this information. I really don't understand this reluctance. People want more developers for X-Plane... but it seems that all the information on developing for X-Plane is not available and no one wants to share it.

It's not requests for 'trade secrets'... unless of course what's being done isn't actually part of the X-Plane SDK/ development interface?

Fine... I 'persist' because there are two primary problems with X-Plane:

1. Community attitude - It's caustic... even moreso at xplane.org. It is absolutely anything but welcoming, well... it's welcoming if you never find something wrong with X-Plane and join the Austin Meyer Fan Club. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. It really needs to change.

2. X-Plane marketing and development. It's touted as "the most advanced flight simulator in the world" and while I understand that marketing tends to overhype... things still keep turning up as being things X-Plane itself simply doesn't do and requires additional software support to correct fidelity issues. While that may or may not be a big issue (personal opinions of whomever, etc) this results in a larger problem where the details of exactly what you can and can't do as a third-party developer is locked into a 'vault' and guarded bettter then the crown jewels of England.

The end result of the two items above is a perceived X-Plane Community stance that newcomers are welcome, as long as they purchase and do so without complaint or concern. Developers are not so welcome.

If I were interested in pursuing X-Plane development... the total lack of detailed development information is shocking. The refusal to respond to questions is even more shocking.

Persistence is good. Helps achieve goals.

Absolutely agree. That's why I don't go to the org anymore. I have a "history" with the owner. But so do many others. I wouldn't go painting the community with the same brush. The X Plane community is not just x-plane.org.

This is subjective. It all depends on what the individual WANTS or expects as ultra realistic or "most advanced". Austin believes blade element theory is more advanced than look-up tables. Personally, I believe he's right. But that's just my humble opinion.

Actually, it isn't. What you can or can't do is freely available if you search the various forums. Like I said, if you reply to my PM, I'll be more than happy to provide you with all the relevant links to whatever you want. I'll even teach you how to animate a gauge or any other moving part in X Plane.

That's a very premature conclusion. From what I can see, you haven't registered on x-pilot. You should check it out. To get banned from there would take quite a lot of work. IIRC, only 3 people (not including bots or spammers) have been banned from there in the last 4 or 5 years. People are always free to criticize. But criticizing without facts and figures, along with saying things like "Blade Element Theory is all just hype" without any kind of numbers to back it up will get you nowhere.

If I were interested in pursuing X-Plane development... the total lack of detailed development information is shocking. The refusal to respond to questions is even more shocking.

You just haven't looked hard enough. If you were interested, and replied to my PM, I would help you out. But that's your call.

It's Thread-Jacking, Ed.

Highly frowned upon.

By all means, feel free to post them once I give them to you.

Still don't know why you want them, though. From what I gathered, you're not interested in developing for X Plane anyway. But I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.

It's thread-jacking since many posts, isn't it? Now we all want to see the links, and if only to finish this kindergarten (crazy that this word is available in more than one language, right?). I'm not a developer but please post those links in order for everyone else to be able to move on…

Then create a post in "The X-Plane Aircraft & Panel Design Forum" and it'll become a sticky with all the information available to anyone who seeks it.
