Looks like they took some abuse.. :) Although nothing scarier then a 20knot 90 degree crosswind in a cessna after having only 40 hours on type.. lol :)
April 27, 201214 yr These sort of winds are normal for us: The reason is we are two islands in the South Pacific and the Cook Strait channels a lot of the wind like a wind tunnel. Wellington is on the southern tip of the north island in the Cook Strait so winds over 100 km/h or 70 mph are fairly common. They are building a lounge and cafe next to Wellington's runway right now so this will allow better viewing of the runway on windy days.
