April 29, 201214 yr I would agree with Ben. Shimmering is there, much too much for my taste. Look at those fine lines on the aircraft, or the scenery along the street after you look off. Exacto what Ben is seeing too. I would bet if I would pan in the NGX VC, the displays would show a huge shimmering.
April 29, 201214 yr Thank you for letting me know, I use a 63" wide screen TV at 1080i res. so it may be clearer to you cause to tell you the truth I don't see any shimmering at all from here. After looking closer at the re-inforcement cables on the wing I can see some shimmerings, for now on I will pretend that's caused by the sun reflecting on the cables in DX10..... 80P Seriously, I know for a fact that 3 > 4 years ago the shimmerings were so bad in DX10 that I could not use it, I don't know what happened (I suspect better driver) but DX10 is a lot better now, not as good as DX9 but for me it's a balance between perf. and shimmerings. If you guys want to get the SGSS pushed to the max in DX9 you'll need a setup in SLI, same for high resolution unless you get a 4GB GPU as soon as they come out... http://ipkonfig.com/...iasing-to-swtor Talking about 4GB GPU check this one out...$999.99 http://www.geforce.c...rticle-keynote/
April 29, 201214 yr The problem in SLI, apparently, is that if you use an addon aircraft, tested were NGX, RealAir SF260, RealAir Turbine Duke, SLI gets broken. Howard (DescendDescend) was so patient with me through last two days doing some really extensive tests, comparing where we see a boost and where not. It all comes down to one thing: VC of an addon aircraft, no boost. Anything else, major boost. Not really useful if you think about it. For me now, a task would be to make Nvidia to look for reasons why this is happening, if possible. Apparently 3D functions in FSX cockpit break SLI. Still waiting for results on addon scenery with default aircraft.
April 29, 201214 yr Even in default aircraft with glass cockpits like the 737 or 747 I couldn't get my SLI working properly. Some 50% of GPU usage all the time
April 29, 201214 yr Do you think this is up to the driver? Could we maybe try asking Nvidia to update the driver on this one? My knowledge on SLI is very limited...

April 29, 201214 yr Jeez Alain, not reading my posts? The reason I started this whole thread was because of that post. Also the link is in my original post. One a 2nd note, I did read they write about that. But as we discovered, SLI is working, but just not always. That is what I want to know, if that is dependable on the driver.

LOL I did not go back to your first post, it is not dependable ONLY on the driver, as you can read from Phil FSX will use SLI but not as it should because the game is CPU bound, todays game are more focus on the GPU and this is why they will scale better in SLI, still some new games are having problems with SLI, one of the reason may be the driver, that is why you will see improvement (implementation for a specific game) in SLI with new drivers released. Now, if you expect Nvidia to implement a driver for FSX....good luck, this is NOT by far a new game selling millions of copies, does Nvidia remember what FSX is.... :LMAO:
April 29, 201214 yr I know what he wrote. Still, the tests we done show that basically as soon as you introduce a cockpit of an addon aircraft, the SLI effect is negated, to the fullest. Remove that factor, and you have a HUGE boost. It's not about resolution nor SGSS, though it does give the boost with those. To me, it's apparent that these cockpits for some reason, block the SLI functionality. And I quite firmly believe this is driver induced. Now, if you expect Nvidia to implement a driver for FSX....good luck, this is NOT by far a new game selling millions of copies, does Nvidia remember what FSX is.... :LMAO: Well, I don't really know. I am open minded. As for you, I see you would rather laugh the idea out, than try.
April 29, 201214 yr Well, I don't really know. I am open minded. As for you, I see you would rather laugh the idea out, than try. Word Not Allowed, I'm not making fun at anything, I just know that for a fact. Look here and tell me what you see in the "New in release 296.10". http://www.nvidia.co...hql-driver.html Now go back as far as you can and tell me when was the last driver implementing SLI for FSX. EDIT: you will have more chances about asking MS for a patch for FSX (SP3) at $49.99 then waiting for Nvidia dev. to do something in their drivers for FSX.
April 29, 201214 yr Word Not Allowed, I'm not making fun at anything, I just know that for a fact. So you do. Pardon me if I try.
April 30, 201214 yr So you do. Pardon me if I try. No problem :good: , I hope I'm not comming across as a jerk with my statements, you have nothing to lose by trying and if you succed please let us know. :Peace:
April 30, 201214 yr I have always felt that there was a slight improvement in performance with dual cards in SLI in certain scenerios. I tested my cards in SLI months ago and did not see a reason to keep two cards in th case. The new drivers and Sparse grid SS have made me re-consider giving SLI another shot. If we can get a driver fix that would be great. MSFS
April 30, 201214 yr Before I post any results, I can tell you we've seen over 80% boost in some scenarios with high sparse grid SS settings. That is something to look forward to, if we are able to fix the no-boost-in-cockpit issue.
