The goose is not without problems...most of them are the pilot in control.... take a look

I bet the pilot had to check his shorts

The thing I am curious about is if whether all these planes and adventure packs are going to be solely Microsoft efforts, or if are they smart enough to farm this stuff out to others, some of whom may even have license to be detailed and creative.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

said it before, and I'll say it again (with absolutely no authority and or knowledge); Watch this space....Not willing to venture further into that discussion than to say I'd be amazed if, a year or two down't road, we don't see "partner" DLC, either co-branded or not...

Yes, Ray - Water, water, water...Didn't even occur to me !

That would give the budding simmers something a bit unruly to get their hands on, and also give the Goose'rs (among which I occasionally count myself - more of a PBY man, me) something to stop us all moaning into our real ale about

the pilot had to check his shorts

And rermember to drop his swimmers properly (and slow down a bit, perhaps)

Great video! So glad I don't own that plane!!

Catalina, Goose, Mallard... Any will do.

I actually got to climb around in a PBY once, though I didn't get to fly in it. The Navy's Test Pilot School here at Pax River likes to borrow rare and vintage aircraft for the "final exams", thereby ensuring that the student has never, ever been up in one before, then make him go through proper testing procedures and provide an evaluation of it. I talked to the owner a bit and checked out the plane, but then they had to go flying. The owner usually sits right-seat, so he can take the controls from the student if needed. The instructor evaluating the student watches over their shoulders.

:Drooling: Jealous.

My father-in-law, who is a pilot, has been asked to join a amall group over here in Blighty that are going to buy a PBY (or perhaps they have already bought it; I'll ask him) and fly it at shows and for business days out; that kind of thing.

He's not rated on it, but they'll let him sit right-seat whenever he wants. He's retiring next year and says that we are going to spend some quality time in it..I am literally drooling over the thought. I think it is one of the most beautiful and versatile (not that I'd know, but from where it turns up, it must be) planes ever built; land or water.

I'll see if I can get some more info from him about it..

Yes, I asked MS directly for a PBY when FLIGHT first came out. Nobody was home...

I rode in a Canso when I was a child .It was a commercial flight from Vancouver BC to Port Hardy on the north end of Vancouver Island. I got to visit the captain but I enjoyed the view from the bubble in the back more.

a twin engine aircraft with a working autopilot and Detroit

Detroit? Alaska isn't uninhabited enough for you?

:LMAO:

A working AP would be great..The Maule could benefit from it of we are to be traversing hundreds of miles of tundra, and there it is! just ready to be animated by you good folk at MSGS  :yahoo:

Again, I sent off a carrier pigeon to MS as soon as I bought the Maule to this very effect - It still hasn't come home...

Cessna 185 bush with tundra tyres, and skis, and floats,

Some more advanced nav action - i.e fully working cockpits - see how relative newbies to navigation have taken to the VOR-based aerocaches and tried to learn VOR navigation
