May 20, 201214 yr Commercial Member regards I open this topic to talk about possible DLCs that could leave after this year, but we all know the secrecy with which Microsoft has all the DLCs related topic, I hope this post can serve to fill that hole we all have to new product output and of course, be channeled into a pleasant and calm discussion about what we like to see in Flight, we can say that will be a topic parallel to scruffyduck. 2012January: None February: Flight! May 20, 201214 yr My bet is on a Twin Otter with VC for Alaska then a C172, Super Cub, Beaver, Goose and a Heli without VC Next sceneries: Australia Africa What i want: Alaska Planes all with VC Twin Otter Super Cub C208 Caravan Do228 Heli Airliner Business Jet Europe
May 21, 201214 yr Airliner Business Jet No so fast my friend. It's too early. I'm saying this now so that everyone knows not to continue including things that they know or should know are not going to be released in the near future. And Europe... that is overkill. Maybe you should lower down to London, UK (2012 Olympic Games held there, so only thing that may pop into people's minds). And if Canada get's into the action, it's probably BC/Alberta (Western Cordillera A.K.A Canadian Rockies) Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
May 21, 201214 yr No harm wishing.... :-) My wishlist for the rest of the year: July: Baron August: Cessna 182 September: Windward Caribbean islands, complete with Piper Apache (used by Windward Island Airways) October: PC-12 (or C-208, a single turbine anyway) November: Navajo or similar twin December: Remainder of Caribbean Islands, DC-3 (cockpits SHOULD go without saying) Mike Mike Dryden
May 21, 201214 yr I'm saying this now so that everyone knows not to continue including things that they know or should know are not going to be released in the near future. Well, excuse us... We were not aware that AVSIM had appointed a Wishlist Police. Can you please provide a list of approved items for us to wish for?
May 21, 201214 yr Can you please provide a list of approved items for us to wish for? 1. A large flying pink elephant - similar to Dumbo but pink, and with flaps on the trailing-edges of the ears. (no cockpit, sorry; brain-pan not large enough) 2. Some clouds (only the big, fluffy, white ones - dark grey (gray?) is too hard. 3. Some animated windsocks. So large you'll be able to see them from another island. (see, we listened to you!) 4. Donald Trump's 757 (still awaiting approval on this one - licensing issues - he won't let MS use his logo without a 30% cut of the DLC profits) 5. Some more clouds - we had a meeting; we can now offer grey clouds but they come as part of the "weather pack" (see below) 6. A weather "pack" - Some nice, different colour clouds, and the "supreme" pack also has some wind in it! 7. Detailed DLC of the Shetland Islands - yes, we know it's not a big GA area; that way no-one will know if we got it wrong or not! <-we'll leave that part out of the marketing - Ed That's it for the approved list. Sorry. Don't say we never give you anything! JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
May 21, 201214 yr C208 Baron, Apache or other tricycle twin Something with floats and/or skis (I mean c'mon, it's Alaska) A DC-3 would be sweet As far as future scenery dreams... I'd get a kick out of flying the fjords of Norway. Or flying through the Alps, especially in something like a Swiss Air Force F-5 (those guys are freakin nuts!) There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.
May 21, 201214 yr I could see the upcoming scenery going Alaska, then Pacific NW (BC, WA, OR), then California as it would be nice to have a large continuous area and all of those areas are interesting and/or scenic. On the other hand, there are many interesting and/or scenic places around the world. I'd love to fly over New Zealand, for instance. Or Scandinavia. Italy. Greece and the Aegean. Colombia. South Africa. The list can just go on and on... As to aircraft: Any tricycle twin that can haul cargo or passengers. Any amphibian that can haul cargo or passengers (may include a Maule variant or the twin, above). A light helicopter.
May 21, 201214 yr Papua New Guinea would give some of the best challenge and Aerocache locations around imo - And some wickedly short, bumpy, on the edge of a precipice strips imaginable... J JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
May 21, 201214 yr Can you please provide a list of approved items for us to wish for? Anything except jets. You can add jets in 2-3 months. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
May 21, 201214 yr The next DLC that I wish for is the Pacific Northwest. A Grumman goose , Albatross or PBY would fulfill the wish for a twin and amphibian, however, I think the twin otter or DC3 are better suited for Alaska.... considering the number of short strips, the twin otter would be best, besides, it performs well on floats. I would like a helicopter ,perhaps a Bell 412 , Aerospatiale Lama or a Bell G3B1... An edit here... My biggest wish is for real time weather..updated ever fifteen minutes.
May 21, 201214 yr Oh, and of course, Missions and Jobs that require water takeoffs or landings, using the above mentioned float planes or flying boats. The Goose would be my "dream plane" for doing Jobs.
May 21, 201214 yr For coastal operations I would prefer the goose...in the real world it can handle rougher water than a float plane. It might not meet the approval of some because it is a tail dragger . Personally I prefer a taildragger because, although I took my ppl in a 140 Cherokee, all my flying was in a PA 12
May 21, 201214 yr Despite my personal preference for tricycle configurations (same reasons as you... it's what I've mostly flown), I would happily tolerate a Goose's tail-dragging ways when landing ashore. Oh, and I guess I'm officially "ready" for Alaska now... I just ordered a full set of Alaska WACs and a new plotter (since I just can't find my old one) to go with the Alaska IFR Low charts and AFD a friend scavenged from his hangar's chart-room "to be shredded" pile for me. I got the WACs because I really don't need sectional-level details for a sim. That, and 17 sectionals just to cover Alaska seemed a little excessive. Even "just" 7 WACs is really pushing it.
