May 22, 201214 yr I notice that when I sometimes respond in the Flight Forum to somebody's post, no matter how "innocent" it is, it goes into a "saving post" mode. Does that mean I'm on the list to be scutinized and possibly censored? Stan
May 23, 201214 yr Hi Stan, No Sir, nothing like that as we don't do anything of the sort. I know that if I don't double click on the "Post" button nothing happens except some kind of never ending green thingy process starts. Sometimes I have to just highlight and save my text and use my back and forward arrows to paste and try again. I have lost complete posts too. Don't know what's behind it. Kind regards,
May 23, 201214 yr Author Thanks, Stephen. I'll try double-clicking next time. Thanks for clearing it up. Stan

Stan There is a correlation between posting your message and it actually being added to the forum database and that is the number of people on the forum at any given moment. It is not just isolated to the FLIGHT forum. If the forum is very busy, you might be posting at a time when the system is cycling through adding and reading back posts for folks, and it appears to "go out to lunch" with nothing happening. Best solution? Don't do anything. Wait while the system completes adding your post.

Yep, lately I have that "problem" too, but I leaened to copy what I type first just in case that "green thingy" stays there as forever... :-) Means AVSIM has huge activity, which is good specially when compared to the kind of activity I nowadays find at some forums I used to poll... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
June 8, 201213 yr This is frustrating but realize it's beyond managements control. I sometimes do what Steve mentioned above (copy my post, back out of the thread, then reenter and paste the post, then hit post. It works a little faster) but mostly hit Post and wait until it is saved. Once saved though, I have to hit Post again and it will instaneously post my comments. Best regards, Jim This post was instantly posted! Yikes!
June 8, 201213 yr This post was instantly posted! Yikes! It really is not as hit and miss as it may seem. Mid-days EST are typically the busiest hours of the day in terms of load on the servers. We are averaging no less than 400 users on line at any given moment through out the day, but from about 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. that number jumps to over a 1,000. I have a little widget that I will put up at the top of the forum's right side bar that will tell you at a glance how many folks are on line. With that, you will be able to pretty much predict system performance.
June 8, 201213 yr nothing happens except some kind of never ending green thingy process starts quit trying to confuse me with your highly technical terminology!
June 8, 201213 yr One tech tidbit I've noticed, but only with MSIE.....I sometimes open a NEW window, to view a posting, but keep the list open in the background. It seems when I open a NEW window, but have the forums open in the background in a SECOND window, the post hangs forever and will NEVER post. As soon as I go back to ONE window, it's fine. I don't have this issue with chrome.
