I am not trying to bash the game, but for the most part the short attention span gamers moved on already or never stopped to look.

True, and also probably most of them likely never join Avsim or any other forum anyway. With most games out there majority of people are not active members of any community related to that game, of course many people probably register somewhere to seek help for technical or other problems, but never become really active member of any community, they simply want to play the game without any other hassle.

 

I believe that existence of third party addons is what has helped FS to develop this kind of wide and active community. News about third party addons, problems and experiences with them has added very much to talk about when compared to some game where everything is made by developer of the game, without community content at all. There is much more to talk about in dynamic and wide FS world thanks to all fancy stuff that keeps coming all the time from big amount of both free and payware developers. There is always something new as big developer community is able to create so much when compared to only small team working on everything, like with MS Flight.

Yep... So when a regular gamer downloads flight and tries it and does not like it he uninstalls it and moves on. The flight sim enthusiast comes on here and says I don't like it because of (insert reason here) Thats why some people who like flight on here think it's only the so called hardcore that complains about flight..

I think the younger and the non hardcore MS Flight users quickly get tired of flying props. They will want to move to jets and that will lead them to fsx, I think...
