May 12, 200422 yr Hello Keith, Thank you for your kind comments. After a few minor technical issues with the website, I believe (having just spoken to the author) that it will be online Saturday morning; My apologies for the delay. The update is progressing well. I have received comments from a variety of people who have all been very helpful in addressing areas that they would like to see improved, all of which have been successfully implemented. I would like a few more days to perfect some of the changes and anticipate releasing the update towards the end of the weekend. Best Regards,[/fontsize]
May 12, 200422 yr Author Hi AndrewThanks for this,I remember Adrian Thompson mentioning this projet and i though ooh i must keep an eye out for it. I have been well into the aircraft for years,I have cruise climb manual, performance manual, flying manual extracts, sword flight plans etc so am gonna give the flight dynamics a good bashing when i get some freetime,my friend used to be a tech manager for concorde(post aircraft retirement) and we have done many flights with the old m$ version which mike bannister helped develop for m$ which i thought was good up to now,My first impressions are that your version (especially panel systems)is really something, not far from the VMAX 742, i love the way that when you land you need to "stick forward" to bring the nose down and the panel with realistic master warning gongs etc etc bring her back to life,I also noticed that your docs supplied are straight from the flying/performance manual!!brilliant. I just dont understand why this product was not advertised big time,i only found out through the sst forum,The best addons are usually via d/l and posted as news on the major fs websites, im just glad i got my copy or i would have most definately missed out on this for a whileKeep the bird alive,at least in fs2004 "well done"best keithoh and NO i dont work for his company I just love Concorde!!
May 12, 200422 yr Was any of those related to the panel itself. Ive been having a few problems but will wait for the website to go up as they might have been fixed already.
May 12, 200422 yr Author If you check the link i supplied then you may find that there were a couple of problems posted there but Andrew W says they have been sorted,I personally sorted my problems myself by getting rid of the 2D bitmaps as i dont like them anyway but thats down to personal choice, also check the Cd as i noticed there was an update on there although not sure what/if it does anythingbest Keith
May 14, 200422 yr Hi.I am having probs with my Panel as well.I just don't have any INS panels at all, except for the dummy one on one of the smaller panel views.and when coming into land at EGCC tonight I landed almost half way down 06L, I followed the instructions from both manuals that I read, but it still happened, any ideas here please,I love the panel, and model. it's great to have one if FS9 again, and it handles beautifully as well.I can't wait to see these little mods that you have done for the panel.PS. the tech support guy at KOCH that I spoke to wasn't sure what I was on about, even though they put a note in the read-me file on installing the Concord saying that there was an alternative INS Gauge avail from the Civa site, but that never worked either and I ended up doing a remove - re-install.the poor guy, he hadn't got FS9, and he hadn't even got a copy of the Concord either yet,I felt sorry for the poor bloke. Thanks Andrew.Steve. PS I'll try and attach a pic of the panel with the missing INS Gauges.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/75909.jpg
May 14, 200422 yr Steve, Download the CIVA INS here]You then must use one of the panel.cfg files supplied on the CD in the CIVA folder to successfully add the INS to the Concorde. I
May 14, 200422 yr Hi Andy,I have a quick question regarding the autopilot. Are all the modes correctly modelled and functional in FS2004?Thanks,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
May 14, 200422 yr [fontsize=-1]Hello John, Yes they all are except TURB, which reduced the electrical trim rate and was used mainly in subsonic turbulence. The AFCS comprises of an auto-throttle and two autopilots and includes modes which are all functional with the exception of TURB. It will do an automatic landing providing that the aircraft is in the correct configuration and that the procedures are followed correctly. Some addition features have been implemented to add stability in adverse weather conditions, namely issues with high temperatures experienced with some third party weather generators. These will be available in a small update I am working on. The autopilot can be coupled to third party navigation tools such as FSNAV, SquawkBox and the CIVA INS by engaging the mode INS.Both the auto-throttle and autopilot will drop out if a required systems fails or is not configured before engagement of the AFCS. I would imagine that this has caused some confusion to those who have not read the documentation provided :)Best Regards,Andy[/fontsize]
May 14, 200422 yr Hi again Andy,I'm afraid I'm still in the same situation as before, I still don't have an INS gauge in the cockpit, despite following you're instructions in the read-me file, there are a lot of different folders regarding views, cockpits,no vc,vc, vcba, vcaf etc, it's all a bit much to fathom out, as always it's quite easy for the people that make the product, but not always that easy to follow their instructions etc, sorry, but thats the point I'm at.it was nice however to find that coupling the INS button on the cockpit panel will allow me to fly the flight plan in FS Nav, I didn't realise that, very handy utility that one.perhaps it could be written in a different manner to allow us to use the INS Gauge by the CIVA people, and use the correct panel .cfg in FS9,PS I don't use the VC anyway, and one last thing, shouldn't the INS Gauge reside in the ''Gauges Folder'' of FS9, and not in the directory of C-prog files-ms games-FS9-CIVA !thanks again Andy, sorry to be a nuisance,Steve.
May 14, 200422 yr I take it you're in the UK then Andy, pity we couldn't use a MSN Voice to sort it out, would probably be a lot quicker,I just checked my MSN Hot mail and Avsim Mail, nothing yet,but theres probably a lot of traffic for the servers to get out.and I take it the INS Gauge stays in the CIVA folder in the FS9 root directory then, thanks for the help all the same Andy, it is a fantastic plane, flies wonderfully, and a very indulgent cockpit too.Steve,
