Need REX Essential Help? REX Tim/Reed in TeamSpeak

Featured Replies

Greetings All,

If you require more information on Real Environment Essential, have questions, or need support, Tim and Reed from REX will be in the AVSIM TeamSpeak today, Tuesday at 2p PT/5 ET (2100 GMT). This is going to be a relaxed environment to ask your detailed questions. I would suggest reading the Essential manual, to be prepared with any questions you may have.

Hats off to the REX development team for their relentless efforts to assist their customers with support issues. :hi:

Yep, bravis, and the support is needed.

I think I´ll remove this new REX-E from my HDD, never ever have I waited 10 min. for weather data to be downloaded, phew...

This iznogood, sorry.

What buggles me the most is that you can´t run REX as a texture loader only anymore, too bad.

Well, back to the fast loader AS 2012!

You can use REX as a texture loader, just as you could REX 2.0. Same exact process... choose a theme, install, and shut down REX. Start FSX and ActiveSky and you're off.

Well, I´ll try again then, thanks...

BTW, how long time do others experience when downloading the weather data in REX-E?

Same here, seems to take forever for the weather to download and do its thing. I've had REXE installed for a week and have yet to actually try a flight just because it takes too long to download the weather. Plus once it loads and I try to access and make changes in the menu it freezes up and the taks manager says its not responding.

Running it on my networked computer, which I guess to to old/slow for the GUI, I cant get thru the whole process without it becoming nonresponsive. On top of that, all the screen shots I have seen dont look any different from the depictions I get from AS2012.

Looks like I wil be staying with AS2012 for now since it quick, works problem free, allows for historical downloads, and is flawless when importing a flight plan from FSBuild.

PAINFUL amount of time. 7-8 minutes every time I strt REX. On a 4.5 GHz quad core. That is just too long to wait. Would be nice if they could make it an option to not download weather unless you are using the weather engine.
