Ever since I installed REX Essentials my FPS have more than halved! I used to get 21FPS at the foot of the runway at Heathrow with UK2000 Heathrow, Aerosoft VFR London and the Horizon Photoscenery but now I struggle to get 9FPS!

 

I tried removing REX but that didn't fix it. :(

 

Any ideas?

You need a new graphics card. That GT 330 just isn't fast enough to run heavy duty clouds. Something like a GTX 560 will do the job nicely.

I also lose FPS with REXE, But I was told it was because it loads more into the Sim, I lose 20 %.

 

Useing AS2012 with REXE I gain 20%FPS.

 

I think thats a big hit. But I have to go away and read the manual!

The more you add to your FS the less fps you will get, You don't get anything for nothing.

Try rebuilding your FSX config file and check performance again.

try dropping the resolution of the cloud set; they still look pretty good on the lower resolutions.

Was getting 30fps using Word Not Allowed's tweak before REX Essentials, and having installed it, am still getting very goof FPS, so no issues here. So may not altogether be REX Essessentials fault?
