How good is the Prototypes series? Is it worth the money?

I assume you are running the installer as administrator.

Are you using the smae language as the FSX installer? As Bradley said. Your download is probably corrupt. Try downloading it with another browser if you still cant get it working.

Sorry, just got it working. The PMDG needs to have electrical power to get it working. I had only been testing it in the cold and dark state!

Hello! When i set two of my joystick buttons to adjust the elevator trim i get no respons in the cockpit. I can spin the wheel with the mouse, and i can assign an axsis to the wheel, but the hotkeys on the joystick or simply keyboard keys wont work. I change the keys for "elevator trim up/down" under controls. Everything else works fine. I didnt have this problem with Windows 7 it is new with Windows 8. But i dont think it has anything to do with the OS because FSX works really well apart from that. Perhaps im just missing a simple step? Thanks for your help.

Thats different though - Mac vs Win and X-plane vs MS Flight. But whats up with the 24/7 Windows users raging about Windows? Why dont they change if it is so incredibly bad?

All im saying with this post is that FSX is working with WIndows 8. But... I think its really wierd that people who havent tried Windows 8 out yet keeps raging about it. Why do you even use Windows as an OS if you cant stand it? Thats a big sad face. Buy a mac, or you can get Linux Ubuntu for free. Like it or not, new computers will be delivered with Windows 8 and not 7. When Windows 7 was realsed people was raging about it the same way, and it proved to be one of the most stable operatingsystems. If you only use the computer to play games you dont really have an opinion anyway. It doesnt matter if you use Windows 8 or 7 for games, both will do more than fine for your purpose. Besides from that. The overall computer knowledge is pretty limited just surfing the internet and playing games.

Hello! I installed Windows 8 a couple of weeks ago and today i decided to try FSX (SP1 and SP2) togheter with a couple of addons (PMDG, REX). Before i upgraded to Windows 8 I used Windows 7 along with many others, and I was pretty happy playing FSX on a Windows 7 machine. FSX ran good on my computer and the simulator was pretty realible aslong as you didnt hit alt+tab or alt+enter while flying - in my case that would cause a crash in 40% of the times. I have only tested FSX for + an hour, which really isnt much at all, but i can already say that some parts of FSX works better whit Windows 8 than Windows 7. For ex alt+tab or alt+enter has not made my simulator to crash yet, and i was pressing the different combinations repeatedly for some time. The ingame menus are also faster and more stable. My FPS is higher (5-10 frames) without huge dips. I cant say how FSX and Windows 8 works togheter in longterm use but the first impression was alot better than expected.

Hello Im trying to create my own route in Vroute, from ESSA to LZIB. ESSA SID TRS M607 MALOX P31 XERBI L996 DENKO L616 DESEN UL616 LUMOT UL156 HLV UP10 BERVA STAR LZIB The route looks like this. However Vroute gives me a big line of error messages. "ERRORS AT FL = 330: (FPL-LOT001-IS -B738/M-SDRWY/S -ESSA0850 -N0430F330 TRS M607 MALOX P31 XERBI L996 DENKO L616 DESEN UL616 LUMOT UL156 HLV UP10 BERVA -LZIB0216 -0) PROF50: CLIMBING/DESCENDING OUTSIDE THE VERTICAL LIMITS OF SEGMENT HLV UP10 BERVA PROF202: LUXAL P31 XERBI IS NOT AVAILABLE IN FL RANGE F245..F460 PROF204: RS: TRAFFIC VIA MALOX P31 GOVEN IS ON FORBIDDEN ROUTE REF:[EPED1004A] P31 MALOX GOVEN" How can i make this work?

Its really a shame that the PMDG cant handle winds generated by REX weather eninge. The weather engine works if you turn the winds of within the REX settings, but with them on, the PMDG´s speed and altitude never stabilize. Have anyone got a solution to this problem?

If you want to takeoff from the runway which you programmed in FSB you can always request ATC for a different runway. I bought RC less than a week ago, and i use vroute for my flightplans - i have had no problems what so ever.

Hey! You can get the file from here. Download the zipfile and not the program. Extract the zipfile it into your RC folder and open up the CMD. When i inside the CMD, go to your RC folder (the same folder which you extracted the dll file). When you are inside the RC folder type "regsvr32 msstdfmt.dll" It should work now. Nathan

Thanks for your input. Since im only flying airliners i have decided to get the Western European package from FS Altitude which seems like a very nice improvment.

Perhaps it is something for me afterall. Im student so i dont have the economy to buy small packages of expensive scenery. On the GEX pictures you can definitely see an improvment compared to the defualt FSX scenery.
