June 11, 201213 yr Hi guys, This weekend I got a Air Cond Overheat warning on the master caution and no matter what I did I could not correct the situation. What would be the usual causes of this? It had no effect on my flight but the whole time I was wondering if I was making my Pax suffer in the back ...LOL. Thanks Chris Chris Verner Home cockpit builder ...well trying anyway
June 11, 201213 yr Check yellow lamps illuminated on the overhead. Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
June 11, 201213 yr Have you checked the QRH what it says about this problem? It should usually tell you if you can simply continue the flight or if you have to land or do any other actions. Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
June 11, 201213 yr You're probably referring to the Zone Temp lights. The corrective action is temperature selectors to full cold, and press the Trip Reset button, which is located by the pack switches.

June 11, 201213 yr Commercial Member Excellent! Thanks Do you know what situation would cause this type of overheating? This is going to sound either stupid, or mean, but it's pretty simple: Stuff got too hot. Remember that it's now summer (northern hem anyway), so it's warmer out. Because of this, the plane bakes in the heat, which will trip sensors. If you look back at the beginning of this forum subsection, right after release, there were a lot of these threads because it was still hot out when it released. Kyle Rodgers
June 11, 201213 yr My doubt is: Do you have a DUCT OVERHEAT on the overhead panel or only air cond plus overHEAD on the master caution annunciator? Because some people misunderstand the overheaD light and call it overheaT when the 2 things are very different. The OVERHEAT lights are on different systems, each one will light up also a master caution annunciator light (example, hyd overheat will light up HYD on the MC recall, PACK OVERHEAT will light up AIR COND light...) you need to be more precise about it. The OVERHEAD light on the annunciator means that a "misc" light on the overhead, not related to the systems listed by the recall lights (such as oxygen, emergency lights...), when illuminated pilots are alerted by the master caution to see at the overhead panel and check for the presence of an amber light. A common simmer mistake will often illuminate both AIR COND and OVERHEAD lights, both of them happens if you let the cabin altitude climb over 14000fts (either packs or bleeds off, outflow valve open) When cabin reaches oxygen mask deployment the OXY ON amber light will come on, also the master caution and OVERHEAD will come on, few minutes after, if cabin continues to climb, the amber AUTO FAIL on the pressurization panel come on, this illuminating the AIR COND light. Also, the OFF SCHED DESCENT light causes AIR COND to come on if you have not set up correctly the pressurization panel and begin a descend before the altitude set on the panel. Tell us what lights are on, better should be a couple of screenshoot Regards Andrea Daviero
