AI Traffic consensus?

Yeah I should have at least tried UT2 before I bought MTX... oh well... it's working ok at 60%... it's just the really big airports that drop the fps.

Question: the guys with MTX, do you select wide screen AI lights and does it change the default halo.bmp?

What's most important to me is fps friendly models and realistic traffic representation at airports.

General Aviation models would be a plus.

Ultimate Traffic 2 is really nice for FPS. It has some good options for adjusting the traffic level to your system. The UT2 administrating tool lets you customize a lot to get the best FPS like

the max number of loaded AI aircraft at a time,

the altitude from which to start displaying ground traffic,

the target FPS you want with current traffic settings (Auto mode) and

the distance from which to display traffic in the air.

I've found UT2 to offer a lot of options to help get the best performance with AI traffic.

That was a good idea hehe... rats! Live and learn I guess...

It helped a little... maybe a 2-3 fps gain... so I avg 18 ish in the same situation.

I'm using the BP=0 /Affin mask 14+ with locked in-game fps of 30. It has given me the least stutters with all settings in the past.

I have the same but I lock at 27. I found a difference locking there vs. 30. I also have FFF at .10 (you should be able to hang with that with your setup) and Texture Max Load at 87.

There's a good thread about how to balance of this to get the best performance/smoothness somwhere around here. It's by Word Not Allowed.
