Hi all from sunny South Africa! :Nail Biting: I have an aircraft texture that knocks out my FS2004 this happens in Italy mainly at Liml at certain times,Setting Traffic much lower rids the curse but cannot view the culprit.Has any one found anything? :Idea:

Your best way to find the culprit is to load yourself at LIML at the time you know there is a problem. Switch to spot view and pan and zoom so you are looking down on your own plane. The point here is to try and only have one a/c in view at a time.

Then use Ctrl-W to view all the ai aircraft. At some point if you are lucky you will view a grey texture for a few seconds before the sim crashes. This will identify the a/c type.

 

Then remove half of the texture folders from that a/c type's folder and see if you can replicate the crash....remember always start at the same day/time that you know will caues a crash. Eventually you should narrow down the culprit. Use imagetool.exe to open the offending texture and simply save it. That should solve the problem.

Thanks for the pointer i know it`s not BA or Alitalia must be some foreign aircraft.More intensive investigation needed.

My most recent texture problem was caused by a Lufthansa Cargo MD11 I got from UTT. It is fine now I have run it through imagetool.exe

Please, where can I download imagetool.exe? After a search with google it seems that there is a certain confusion about where to get it.

 

I have similar issues as ja99 with some repaints für RATS Il-76 and want to give it a try with imagetool.

Hi all! Had another "Blackout" overflying EDDM so it could well be a German aircraft,thanks to Eric from Croatia i have the imagetool and will get cracking soon.

Just a update on the faulty texture,iv`e narrowed it down to one of thirteen traffic files,this may take awhile methinks.

Do you use world of ai? If you do look atbSpanair A320s.

:Idea: Mornin all! Found the blighter,AIA B737-300 Mistral Air the 32bit texture caused the frustration it`s now dxt no mips and LIML once again is a happy place. :Just Kidding:
