Traffic Big Problems

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I've got UT2, and I've ran the UT2 bridge, re-indexed etc etc.

However when I fly (VFR), I find these problems:

1. The skies are empty - above Sydney there was a Cessna and another GA only!

2. YSSY Sydney airport - NO heavies at all the gates when I was passing it, with UT2 this airport is positively bustling with A380s, Jumbos, 737, 767 etc. It was like a ghost town with VoxATC.

3. Aircraft are landing in the dirt before the runway

I don't know what to do now, I was really impressed with being able to practice learning to speak to ATC for when I need to do it in PPL training. But the traffic situation is dire!

Are the above points normal operation? Does Vox only generate traffic at departure and arrival based only on MY flight plan - thats what it looks like?

I'm considering turning Vox traffic off, and UT2 back on fully, and using Vox as my ATC speak practice.. but it's a bit silly with it not controlling traffic, I'm going to hit something...

How did you guys get around these issues to enjoy Vox?

I tried a workaround of enabling both sets of traffic, but it only partially works.

YSSY looks ok and full of Qantas at the gates as I'm approaching.

But then as I get close and land all the liveried planes from UT2 dissapear!

They are replaced with all the generic Boeing liveries that VoxATC wants to use, and it's only a tiny amount of traffic in comparison, even though the slider is at 100%

I REALLY want this program to work, would love some feedback on how others have compromised on traffiic and got a good system going.

A few generic boeing (boring) scattered around is not going to cut it when UT2Bridge should be picking up liveries.

I use MTX Pro and this is my one major complaint about VOX. I'll have a ton of AI at the airports but once I get air born, the is little to no traffic enroute. I went back to PFE just to get some air traffic. Other than that, this is a great ATC program.

What's PFE like? Isn't it a pain to setup the adventure etc at the start?

Does it control the existing AI traffic?

Can you talk to it like VOXAtc?

Are the procedures realistic?

Does it do VFR?

Sorry for all the questions :) I had seen their website before but it wasn't very clear exactly what it does..

Ut2 disables default traffic library, that's why you don't see voxatc's own traffic. Find "trafficAircraft" file and rename it's extension to "bgl".

No atc interacts with fsx ai system, only fsx's own atc is able to do it.

Ahh so when ut2 removed the default traffic it needs to be put back for vox?

But I thought the UT2Bridge program is supposed to give traffic to Vox? That would be better too because it's the UT2 aircraft/liveries we want it to reuse even if there are no timetables..

This is what i hope to see improved in the upcoming update. There is a certain radius applied ( Forgot what distance) in regards to where we see traffic. So at the Airports its fine but once up in the sky it becomes somewhat lonely.

Kind Regards

Simon.

Sorry, don't know anything about ut2bridge, but renaming traffic back to original fixed the ai problem for me, unfortunately only default airlines. :(

Yep, I've been asking on the UT2 support forum if I can convert or compile all my UT2 traffic into a BGL file, but they said this is not possible unfortunately.

If only we could make a BGL file for UT2 it would solve most of the issues.

This will give you all the chatter you need, i never fly without it. Just tune into your dept/arrv for a good immersion experience with real pilots and not canned chatter

What I do is dial up my destination to listen for the runway in use as well

That might be very useful to me!

Edit: I got the archive to work too,I miscalculated UTC..

Now I'm listening to my local :)
