Just took a flight into West YellowstoneWY with REXESS

And ran into heavy snow. ?? (From Cody WY)

Fun flight, but hardly realistic, hey? Went to the Weather Channel, and supposed to be 69 (F) and clear.

I notice I am also getting quite a few cumulus clouds that are sitting on the ground.

Maybe it's something I am doing wrong, but I have REXESS running before I start FSX, choose real world weather, launch with Shade. It's not something I am going to declare that FSX and REX are total scams over, and kill myself, but I do wonder what is going on?

 strange problem, i had a stable fsx setup before installing REX ESS, now my fs9 crashes sometimes in mid-flight....very annoying. before REXESS i had no crashes at all: I would click with the mouse like a maniac everywhere, i would multi-task in Win7.....Netflix and Explorer going on at the same time as FSX. I like REXESS but i think we need a little patch soon.

I would like to see the metar report to confirm why you received snow? That seems a little odd and out of place. Can you please email me your metar reports located where REX is installed in the MetarXML folder? [email protected]

We have thousands of people using REX Ess just fine with no crashes in FSX. Could you provide a screenshot of your task manager on our support forum?

I was in Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks two weekends ago and it was snowing - saw it with my own eyes.

Just to update, it was user error. I was using the FSX "Real World Weather" option, instead of "User Defined", which, in this case, would mean that RexEss inputs the weather.

BTW, what does the acronym "RTFM" mean? :)

Read The (er... <cough>) Fine Manual, of course. :-)

I get ground clouds all the time too. I have never figured this out.

Glad I am not the only one, but it does kind of destroy the immersion.

Hit "clear weather" in FSUIPC and let REX or whatever re-inject the weather.
