June 22, 201213 yr I have seen a few HD aircraft avialable, was wondering if they take alot of resources to run, will I see a hit on fps when flying them? Thanks
June 22, 201213 yr Depends on the aircraft - the RealAir Lancair is HD, yet gives good performance.. Bert
June 22, 201213 yr Author I dont run aerosoft airports, or cities, tried but poor fps (great slide show pictures lol). I use 512 3d textures in AS, I run all sliders to high, lod radius to max, and have had good success ever since following Kostas guides. Flying all around the globe which is enhanced with Scenery Tech land class, UTX, GEX, splatter of Photo Scenery here and there, HD Moon, Airport Enhancer (works real well), Natural Trees, 3D real cockpit effect, 3D cockpit sound, FS captain (most of the time), some sound files. Now if I try to use a HD aircraft in that mix is it going to topple and turn into a slide show? Turning all the sliders down is a option I dont like. Also I dont fly the Heavies, like the Multi engine aircraft, lower and slower with aeroplayer running is my way to relax after a day at the office. Next medal Im shootin for is Landing at 1000 airports. Thanks for your time.
June 22, 201213 yr Author Not running the latest and greatest in hardware I decided to play it safe and stay away from the HD aircraft, got the Milviz Beech Baron 55 instead, great airplane and runs well on this system.
June 22, 201213 yr You should be fine with them on that system. I run HD paints on mine, but not always with fancy scenery and complex aircraft combined.
June 23, 201213 yr Author Thanks for your replies gentlmen, not easy to get responses when your running older system.
June 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member er... just as an FYI, the B-55 IS an HD aircraft. All of our planes are. We don't use 4K x 4K anymore cause no noticed the difference (honestly... no one). But all of our planes use 2K x 2K as the base... just saying is all... (oh and thanks for the purchase... SP is COMING!!!) Please contact oisin at milviz dot com for forum registration information. June 23, 201213 yr Author Didnt realize, wasnt advertised the same way the other HD aircraft were , no wonder it looks so good then. Good to see I can run your HD aircraft, the B55 sure does fly fine.
June 23, 201213 yr Commercial Member We don't use the term HD. We just say... really amazing and nice textures... HD sounds like it's for TV....
