Track IR + EZdok = Closest you can get in FS to the real deal

Featured Replies

So, I've been using Track IR for about one year. It's really great, you can really do stuff more like a pilot would do using your head instead of a HAT Switch to move your viewpoint around the cockpit. But it always felt weird to do certain things, like looking at the FMC, checking the top switches of the overhead of a B737, setting the switches for aircraft that have the Yoke in front of them, like most General Aviation airplanes do.

I always read about EZdok, but never really understood how it improved FSX so much. Since I'm planning on doing a FS video for Youtube, not the first time I do it, and it's something I like doing, it just takes a LOT of time, I decided to give EZdok a Try, it's expensive, but what the hell..

Man, it's exactly what I have been searching for ages, and never found any addon that could do it. You can set up cameras in a matter of seconds, and with Track IR it just feel natural, because you have full control of your cameras with the moviment of your head, even if it's for looking at the FMC or the overhead panel. Track IR should make a bundle with this software!

I know many of you already know about all this, but if you have Track IR and haven't tried EZdok, don't wast time, it's so worth it.

I will post the video when it's ready, it should take some time though, as I have to re-learn how to edit video in modern editing software!

Yes, I love the addons that get used every single time I fire up the sim...makes the cost average pennies per use over time.

cheers

Yes, TrackIR + Ezdok is the most immersive way to play FSX IMO. Get A2A Accu-feel for the icing on the cake. :)

I can't even think of FSX without either. Holy cow.

Which version of Track IR do you have OP ?

I must say I rarely to never use the combo TrackIR and EZDOK for jetliners. The FPS I have at bigger airports is just too low, making it hard to use TrackIR. I do use it fanatically in small props over OrbX country however, where the FPS is generally really good on my machine.

May I add another addon to the list? For me the combo of EZDOK, TrackIR and AccuFeel makes flying a completely different experience, and expecially GA flights are in my mind enhanced a lot. With TrackIR enabling head control of the camer, EZDOK moving the camera based on environmental effects and Accufeel moving the airplane model based on environmental effects and adding all kidns of screeches, squeeks and groans, I'm not sure how much more realistic the feeling of flying in FSX can get.

TrackIR 5, the latest version. Runs at 120fps, so it's super smooth. Also using Track IR Pro, has broken but Super Glue fixed it, it seems the current ones being shipped are stronger.

Yes, Track IR has that downside, you need smooth fps, or the experience will be terrible!

AccuFeel I have also, it's great, although I think it has some incompatibilities with some Addons on the market. I know I read somewhere PMDG 737 has strange behavior with AccuFeel activated, even though you're not supposed to use it with an airliner, it's more for GA. I like the effect it generates since it's not just a camera effect, it's shaking the whole airplane. The Tire touchdown effect I like the most, much better than stock FSX
