KLM 737-600

Featured Replies

I looked all over for a -600 KLM livery but couldn't find one. I would like one to replace my antiquated DA Fokker 70 with a KLM -600 model for short hops to the UK.

Well, you know what they say: If you want something done right, do it yourself. It is a relatively simple paint job, you will have a bit of a hard time aligning the stripes at the tail section, but other than that, you'll be fine. Oh, you expected someone else to do the work for you.... Good luck with that

Two miles of road can take you two miles. Two miles of runway can take you anywhere in the world

Reason that you can't find a 737-600 in KLM colours is that KLM never had any -600's in real life. ;-)

You can always try to make one yourselve. Or you could always still fly a 737 classic because KLM had those (but those are already retired).

I saw where someone posted a request for a KLM -600 in a seperate thread. I'll probably work on that next and put it ahead of my other liveries in my personal list.

So 14Murphy it looks like you've gotten your wish! Steve puts out excellent liveries, some of the best for the NGX, so you will not be disappointed.

Regards,

Kyle

Kyle,

Thanks for the kind words regarding my paints. I have to leave Sunday morning to go out of town for a funeral and probably will not have the KLM paint completed until the end of next week. I might make a couple of versions to upload in the -600.

Of course Steve, you deserve it, and condolences about your mother. Of course take your time, no one expects anything from you especially in troubled times. We will all be here when you are ready to come back, and always look forward to more of your outstanding work.

btw- just downloaded the new Lander -600 you made, love it, back to making the short hops around the UK for a while now......

Regards,

Kyle

Thanks Gentleman, you are all awesome and sorry again Steve for your loss. This all takes a back seat for those occasions in life. Yesterday I fired up the old DA Fokker 70 and had the most difficult time trying to fly in a 2D panel without my ususal Track IR. Cant believe I used to function without virtual cockpits and Track IR.

Thanks for the well wishes. Since I'm not heading out until Sunday morning, I thought I would start on one of the -600s tonight. Painting the liveries helps me relax in the evenings. I should be able to get this one finished and uploaded tomorrow evening at the latest. The second -600 that I want to make when I get back will be a fictional KLM City Hopper version. Here's how the first one is coming along. All it needs is the front gear doors, flags on the rear, red warning lines on the fuselage and the night textures done. Then I can package it up for an upload.

Steve, looks great! It seems like you churn up a paint every day!

Beautiful, I need to learn how to paint AC. Can't wait for the KLM Cityhopper, that was my regular Fokker 70 livery for my EHAM to other European destinations. Great work!!

I had a couple of hours free, so I went ahead and finished the KLM -600. It just finished uploading to the AVSIM library. I will work on the KLM City Hopper -600 and hopefully have that one done next weekend. Here are a few finalized screenshots.

My departure was delayed 24 hours, so I'm headed out in the morning. We had bad storms here last night and my Internet connection has been out since a few minutes ago. I worked on the KLM Cityhopper version and all I have left is to fix where the gray/blue line gets distorted on the rear fuselage by the 3D model. You can see it in the screenshot below. It's messed up on both sides. A stright line right across that section (in the middle) gets distorted.

I'll work on finishing it when I get back. I just thought I would post this shot as a preview.
