After installing Reality XP WX 500 Weather Radar, I noticed that the J41 had it installed without needing to run the configuration utility. However, the results are quite poor as the attached picture demonstrates. Before I run to Reality XP support, has anyone else run into this?

Someone posted instructions on how to add the Captain Sim Wx radar in another subject yesterday. I wonder how they compare. How much of a framerate hit did you get from this one?

Is that the ground clutter? Someone mentioned in an earlier post it works better once you're up higher, or if you add +5 degrees to it.

Just installed the Reality product the other day, no FPS impact that I can see

I'd like to buy it too, but FS2Crew uses the radar as a popup clickspot..

Does anyone know if FS2Crew can still get the popup?

Does WX500 have it's own popup or do the WX buttons on the edges just work around the FS2Crew clickspot?

Well since I already own the Captainsim weather radar from buying one of their products I thought I would try that, and it works except the buttons. Need to use a popup to control it but I can live with that.

This is what it looks like compared to the wx500:

Can't comment on the framerate hit since I don't usually watch it, but it did seem to be dipping a bit lower than before. But maybe it's just the J41 it is heavy on frames too.

Yes, FS2Crew still has the popup. It's in the middle of the radar screen, while the rest of the WX500 clickspots are on the edges indicated by the green popup buttons.

Both products work together fine.

Ground clutter it was. Tilt adjustment worked. Thanks, DanW!

Also, I have FS2Crew as well and it works just fine with the W 500 radar installed.

Cool, great to hear.

I decided not to buy it in the end, the J41 is the only plane I know that supports it in the VC, and my Captainsim Retro jets have one with VC buttons so I wouldn't replace those either.

If other planes had VC support then maybe.
