Pro Flight Emulator-Settings Help Please

Featured Replies

Not really no as I don't use the gauge in the aircraft panel I use the remote standalone app instead. If you search the official forum for TGS Black/not connecting or variations on those terms you will see this subject has been raised before on more than one occasion. I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you at this time, perhaps reading through those posts on the PFE forum may eventually find you the answer.

You seem to be using the latest version though so that is one good thing. Perhaps you should try a reinstall with your anti virus software disabled or removed, it is quite common for PFE to be ruined by Anti virus software both while you are downloading PFE from Aerosoft and when you actual come to install it.

Other than the above I am out of ideas, sorry.

Cheers, Andy.

Andy,

Many thanks for your help and advice-I shall keep trying to persue the solution though.

Andy,

Sorry to trouble you again.

I have found a download called TGS Display Set which I think is the stand alone version which I think is what you are using.

If this is the case can you tell me which file/folder you placed it into.

I just want to make sure before allocating it a file.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Michael

If they are the correct files then they go in the folder I mentioned earlier in the thread with TGS in the name. Im not at my FS PC so cant post the address again at the moment.

Cheers, Andy.

O.K.many thanks Andy.

Hi again Andy,

I have downloaded it into the file that you mentioned and that is no problem.

As it is a stand alone programme I have been able to pin it to my task bar.When I have gone through FSX/PFE done all the flight loading etc I then click on the taskbar and the TGS Display shows up it briefly lights up then the lights go out and I have the message 'FS TGS NOT ACTIVE'

I then go through the pushback process but still it gives the same message and nothing happens-it does not kick back into life.

I believe that this add on is suited to running on more than one PC but I am only running the one at the moment,I take it that it is OK just to run it on a single PC as a stand alone facility.

The manual also states that if I want to use this guage then I can delete the other TGS guage from my panel cfg files but I have not done so yet.

Incidentally I have set up this add on to 'run as administrator'.

However,I am wondering whether or not you may have any idea why it is not kicking into life!

I would welcome any further help.

Many thanks in anticipation.

First of all do not run it as Admin unless FSX and PFE are running as admin as well, remember I said that programs using different user rights levels cannot communicate with one another, Windows 7 wont allow it, its a security measure to try to stop malware from messing up your PC.

Next navigate to the main PFE install folder, its usually somewhere like;

*:\Program Files (x86)\Aerosoft\PFE

Then open the file PF_Emulator.ini with notepad++ as I mentioned the other day and look for the section below and make sure it reads the same for now;

[TGS]
TGSOn=1
Visual=1
Audio=1
HdgBug=1
ReduceVol=25
PromptAt=90
GateType=8
ATCTaxiSpd=1
ReadbackTaxiSpd=1
FinalPromptAt=50

If all that is correct then you should get the TGS standalone app showing something, once ATC has given you taxi instructions.

Cheers, Andy.

Hi Andy,

Yes,I have checked that the settings within the PFE.ini are the same as yours.

However,having again gone through the FSX/PFE flight planning process the TGS guage still shows 'TGS NOT ACTIVE'-how frustrating.

The other point is that w

hen the guage is visible it stops my keyboard controls from being used for some reason and if I click say the auto throttle on the flight panel then the TGS guage just vanishes

again until I click back on the taskbar again.

I am not sure what this all means.

Incidentally I have ensured that none of the programmes are run as administrator to see them in 'sync' but still no joy!!

Any other observations might be useful.

I have also removed the old panelcfg guage from my aircraft to see if that made a difference.

Thanks again for your help.

The standalone app is supposed to be used on a second monitor or a different PC on your network. It was worth trying to see if it worked instead of the gauge, but clearly there is something wrong with your install. I have no more info for you now unfortunately, Dave will have to help you on the official forum.

Cheers, Andy.

OK,

Many thanks for all your help,Andy

I love PFE as it's the best ATC program by far

I like this software as well.The only problem is that ATC tells me to descend when I'm about 10 miles from the airport and at fl380 !!!

I changed the altitudes and all that. I am always way too high. how do I get a create a proper flightplan ? I use fsbuild+vroute and followed the suggestions I found on the pfe's forum but I'm not any wiser.

Do you set up the sids & stars in PFE ? if you want, I can post some screen shots of a flight set up.

System: MSFS2024, ASUS Rog Stryx Z790-A,  Intel i9-14900KF,  Asus ROG Ryujin III 360 , Asus Hyperion Case,Rog Stryx 4090 OC, Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD, 1Tb Samsung 860 EVO SSD,64Gb G Skill Memory, Asus Aura 1200W Gold PSU,Win 11 ,LG C4 48" 4K OLED Screen., Airbus TCA Full Kit, Stream Deck XL. No, I never do. Am I supposed to ? I thought I didn't need to setup any sids or stars. care to elaborate ? yes please post some screenshots :-)

It helps :) Ok will do a mini tutorial for you. I import the FP for PFE from EFB with sid & stars incorporated. Of course you can use fsbuild or other flight planner that can incorporate sids etc.Be back soon.

Ok, here goes. Firstly I will apologise for the cruddy screenshots, I am using PFE on a laptop with a second monitor attached, so it has grabbed that as well, and have no idea how to correct it.

The flight I am showing you is KDEN to KLAX. It is a flightaware FP, imported into EFB. The first 2 screenies shows you the dep and arr for this particular flight.

So, our dep will be using the ROCK17 departure for runway 17R

Arrival into LAX will be the RIVR approach

Now open PFE and go to options 1 as below, and make sure your happy that your settings are how you want them. below is my set up.
