July 11, 201213 yr I have recently purchased this excellent piece of software but the one problem that I have is getting the TGS Taxi Guidance system to work.I believe that I need to run the PFE Dispayer 'As Administrator' in order for it to work properly. Now,I have gone into the properties section of the PFE Displayer but I am unsure as to how to set this to run as administrator. I am wondering whether someone could walk me through the process. I have been using the PFE forum but despite their help I have still not been able crack the non working of this particular guauge. Many thanks in anticipation. Michael Broom
July 11, 201213 yr PFE Displayer has nothing to do with the TGS gauge, the displayer shows a dynamic list telling you what the 1 to 0 keys do across the top of your keyboard depending on what frequency you have the radio tuned to. Cheers, Andy.
July 11, 201213 yr Glad you're enjoying the program. Tried it after about 10 tries I only had 1 or 2 successful flights. Went straight back to RC4 must less fuss and it works everytime. When it DID work it was pretty awesome but that was rare.
July 11, 201213 yr Author Hi, Many thanks for your reply. Yes,PFE is excellent and works well apart from the fact that I cannot get the TGS taxi guide to work even though I have installed it on my aircraft panel. I cannot fly if I cannot taxi around the airport unlike FSX default which was great in respect of giving the 'arrow directions'. Does RC4 give taxi directions? I would appreciate any further reply. Michael Broom
July 11, 201213 yr I only use the "audio guidance" option. Which works flawlessly. Different people have different issues with the gauges. So it's difficult to pin down what their problems are. Also you have to be careful to install the gauge correctly into the panel.cfg RC4 does not give any taxi guidance. July 11, 201213 yr I too only use the audio guidance, which works well in most situations and better fits with the audio enhancement aspect of PFE. I tried the gauge, but could not get it to work - just as well, since the audio is a great idea. Michael
July 11, 201213 yr Me to, I use the audio guidance. No hassle with the gauge. I find PFE the best ATC program out there. I have RC4 and have tested voxatc, but PFE is the most complete, flexible and rock solid on my system. Jos
July 11, 201213 yr Author I would love to be able to get the Audio Option to work within PFE-How do you get it to work? Thank you in anticipation. Michael Michael Broom
July 11, 201213 yr Options 1 > Audio Guidance. Note not the option highlighted in this image but the option just above that, if you use the highlighted option too, that will turn your heading bug on the HSI so that it always points to the next taxiway node (waypoint/joint). The heading bug option doesn't work in some aircraft though, aircraft like the PMDG MD11 and NGX cant have the heading bug adjusted by external programs, anything that uses the default MSFS auto pilot systems should be OK though. Cheers, Andy.
July 11, 201213 yr Author Yes,in options 1 I have all of these enabled but still no taxi directions etc. Michael Broom
July 11, 201213 yr Set all your option 1 page exactly like in the image below, if you still have problems then you either don't have the voice expansion pack (and the free radio interference update) installed or it didn't install properly. Cheers, Andy.

July 11, 201213 yr Author Thanks, I shall try these settings and report back. Everything else within PFE works great,it is just the TGS guidance that I cannot bring to life. I installed the voice pack expansion too. As a matter of further information I installed by CD(version 1.84 which is an old version) and then I used the cummulative update which produced the TGS facility into the options 1 screen but I have never managed to get it working. Anyway I shall report back. Michael Michael Broom
July 11, 201213 yr Have you tried using the standalone app version of the TGS gauge, you can use it on the same PC with FS in windowed mode or across a network on another PC if you want. *:\Program Files (x86)\Aerosoft\PFE\TGS_Gauge\tgs_display.exe Cheers, Andy.
July 11, 201213 yr Author Hi, Where do I get the standalone version from. Thanks for your help and look forward to hearing from you. Michael Michael Broom
