July 18, 201213 yr I have finished my playthrough about two weeks ago and Ikeep thinking about it. Mostly I remember all the heart-breaking decisions I had to make, the wonderful story telling, but sadly I'm also reminded of the ratehr bad ending, that's just not fitting for an epic journey of this size. I of course have my thoughts about this fantastic trilogy - about the good things, but also why the end ultimately failed to deliver. I'm very curious to hear, if you did play the trilogy, how you experienced the game and the subsequent ending. Personally, I feel the end was a misguided attempt at trying to give you a choice on the grand scheme of things when that choice wasn't even relevant anymore. Before I start typing an endless story, however, I would be interested in hearing your thoughts. July 18, 201213 yr Yep, loved the games. The ending was rather under-whelming, largely because not one choice you made earlier mattered in the slightest. It appeared to be very lazy writing. Still the poor ending aside a simply phenomenal trilogy, in my humble opinion only surpassed by KOTOR 1 & 2. Ian R Tyldesley
July 19, 201213 yr Author Haven't started 3 yet as It's not available on Steam. I don't think it will ever appear on Steam, to be honest. EA already announced Crysis 3 won't get on Steam, so I doubt ME3 will. I bought the box, and now I also bought the boxed editions of ME1 and 2, just to have them on my shelf. Ian, you think KOTOR 1 and 2 are better? I must say that when I came to ME2, only then I understood the scope of the game - to what extent my decisions were influencing the rest of the game. I never quite had that feelign with KOTOR, even if I loved it. I'm still about halfway KOTOR 2, I should probably finish it... The endings were much the same as ME3, KOTOR 2 had a very unwhelming ending. I just got Jade Empire from Steam for £3, it's actually very good...much the same as KOTOR, but set in China. July 27, 201213 yr Played the trilogy with the second as my favorite. Then end was very disappointing. As you say, the choices became meaningless. There is a meme out there about the last enemy you face. It goes "good guy marauder shields... Tries to kill you to save you from the horrible ending". It's funny cause it's true.
