July 18, 201213 yr I am not sure if this is the right forum for my question but since I fly with the PMDG-MD-11 I ask anyway. I understand the SID ( see attached picture ) except for the ALT RESTRICTION which indicates "Climb to 5000 " Can anybody explain what is meant and what to do after take off ? Thanks Paul12 Herbert Werni
July 18, 201213 yr Looks like it's your initial climb clearance. Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
July 19, 201213 yr I use Navigraph charts too. Find them easier to read since all are standardized. Just as Rostyslav said it is the altitude that you are allowed to climb to when you are issued a SID by the ATC (unless he tells you something else). I don't not know how experienced you are with charts but my tip is to take your time to read the general tab too, has a lot of useful info like APU restrictions and Noise abatement stuff. If you already knew this then disregard ^_^ HTH, Manfred Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
July 19, 201213 yr Paul, that SID is what we call a "radar departure"... All it is, is initial heading and altitude... You can then expect to be radar vectored by ATC... It is used when conditions are either very good or very bad traffic-wise. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
