July 20, 201213 yr False and under what facts do you base this? You have the numbers to back up this statement?
July 20, 201213 yr Not the first time this has been posted in PMDG as well VATSIM threads. This is the 3rd or 4th I've seen just here. From my understanding and testing no real help came from the tweak on my end and reported from many others the same results. I think a lot of things can cause the placebo effects and more so in FSX as we all inspire for more performance. (Wow that pill really stopped my headache! Oh really it was just rat poison! ) -Raven HarrisIntel i7 980X @ 4.43GHz | ASUS Rampage III | Corsair 6GB DDR3 2000MHz | 3 EVGA GTX280 | Corsair 1200 Watt | Intel 510 SSD (RAID 0)PMDG - 747-400/8iF | MD11/F | BAe J41 | 737NG 6/7/8/9 Hope ER/BBJ|777LR/FFlight1- Cessna Mustang
July 21, 201213 yr I did this tweek and mainly what I noticed was a drop in CPU temperature. I didn't really see a frame rate increase or anything like that. Tom Landry

July 24, 201213 yr Commercial Member I find it very hard to believe that Microsoft's Windows team 1. doesn't know how their own OS works, and 2. Wouldn't have fixed such a problem via Windows Update or the Service Pack in the three years since the thread in the OP was created... September 30, 201213 yr For what its worth, in Win 7 perf mon you can see cores being parked and then restarted as you cruise in FSX, and i prefer not to see that text "Core X Parked" at any point during flight, so i always disable core parking. The setting in the core parking tool i use is not retained through reboot though, wouldnt mind a way to disable core parking permanently for my FSX PC. Nice feature for everyday use PC though.
