July 28, 201213 yr Hello guys, first of all I am not sure if this is being posted in the correct area of the forums, if not, Mods, please do not hesitate to drop this into the most suitable area. I mean, come on if there is ANY DEVELOPERS OUT THERE! PLEASE, BEFORE YOU CONSIDER MAKING AN ERJ. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER MAKING ANOTHER A320. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER MAKING ANOTHER CESSNA. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER MAKING ANOTHER TRIPLE 7 [not you PMDG, you go on, you fight on]. BEFORE YOU CONSIDER MAKING AN EXTENSION TO YOUR PREVIOUS MODEL. BEFORE YOU EVEN GET THE URGE TO THINK ABOUT DOING ANOTHER 737. PLEASE THINK ABOUT, JUST THINK ABOUT DOING AN ATR. Great, now I have your attention. Sorry for my brute force with the caps above, maybe immature but I feel it was necessary, I hope you think so too. Okay guys, I am sure I do not speak for myself when I say the FSX Community has a huge void embedded deep within it from the absence of a Proper Turboprop to get the job done. I think I speak for many when I say; I believe the ATR has been suppressed, pushed to the bottom of an unimaginably long list, far away from any concern, it is Beyond me why such a great turboprop has not been properly designed for FSX, and I don't think I am asking for too much by asking why? Good Lord, every morning I wake up and check what's happening in the community, 'JAMALJE STUDIOS DESIGNS ANOTHER 737 200' OR [JAMALJE STUDIOS DESIGNS AN ATR!..................................FOR XPLANE] :Waiting: It honestly makes me cringe at how anyone could skip over the elegance that is the ATR and stoop so low to spend months on designing an aircraft that will loose its taste 4days after release. In the wonderful days of FS9 Flight 1 [king at that time] took the initiative to design the ATR, GREAT! Thank you so much Flight 1, your aircraft is amazing and I enjoyed flying it, but it shows its age when compared to the aircraft of today. Maybe it is because this aircraft was made for FS2004 and simply patched up and ported to FSX. With that being said we have never, not once seen any true quality payware ATRs Available on the market and that is a Shame seeing that the real ATR is still going strong, and is constantly being upgraded. I would have the same attitude towards the Dash-8 variants, because they have also been surpressed in the past, well, now things seem to be going a bit better. I just want the same for my ATR. I think we are honestly spoilt for choice for just about everything else, same cannot be said about the true turboprops of today, and that brings me back to the question why? Even if you do make a turbo prop it's one that hardly anyone can actually want to sit and learn to love, and it is unfortunate because that is a huge loss on developer's end. If I could talk to any developer I would honestly ask them why... I would be prepared to wait an eternity for just a good ATR. Also when people say just go get the Flight 1 ATR, I feel as if that is also an attempt to suppress the need for an ATR. Anyway, thanks guys for reading this, if it doesn't make sense it's because I honestly didn't back check it, so grammatical/Spelling, errors may be there, and additionally it may be hard for you to comprehend, but the general idea is that we need an ATR. I think so, and I bet the majority of you do too. And as a last attempt to convince.... Once again sorry for my hostile manner on this post, just that, it's been a while and It bugged me that no one even bothers to ask about the designing of this majestic bird and I really needed to get my point across. Opinions WELCOMED! I'd make one myself but, I don't know how to go about tackling that sort of project. So come on.... A2A[Highly unlikely], PMDG, Aerosoft, FLIGHT 1, CARENADO, JustFlight, Captain Sim, Wilco, Abacus.... Okay maybe not you Abacus, it's okay this time you go on and rest... And all the other designers atleast think about it, share ideas. EDIT : Also, let's say this thread isn't only about the ATR, what about the other wonderful turboprops that are constantly neglected? The Saab! The Fokker! The Dash 8!
July 28, 201213 yr Agree 100%, loved the Flight1 ATR back in FS9 but it does show its age. Still wish PMDG would've spent all those resources on a turboprop that is actually still widely used worldwide like the Saab so I wouldn't have to makeup my own routes to fly with the J41.....
July 28, 201213 yr Author Saab so I wouldn't have to makeup my own routes to fly with the J41..... There we go! Even the Saab is acceptable, we have been missing one for a very long time as well.
July 28, 201213 yr To be honest. This is one point that will make or break the X-Plane 10 decision with me, as to if I buy it or not. I would not mind one second dropping the $70 it costs of I know/knew quality development would go or is going to be brought to XP10 by way of some much needed FRESH aircraft. I don't care so much about popularity as I do different. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
July 28, 201213 yr Abacus.... Okay maybe not you Abacus, it's okay this time you go on and rest :LMAO: :LMAO: I would love a good high quality ATR! Even though I've never sat on one...and only seen one...oh who cares, it looks cool and it seems to be a great plane! Just think, you're an American Eagle pilot, stationed in San Juan. As you step out of the hot Puerto Rican summer heat into the cargo bay of your ATR, convienently located aft of the spacious cockpit you work in, you realize what an interesting aircraft this is...You start the engine to provide bleed air and the likes, but the props are stationary, as the prop brakes are in action...and I could go on...

July 28, 201213 yr I n this days I am flyng the F1 version and I agree it doesn't perform very well in FSX, there are bug and in VC mode you can't operate all gauges very well. You almost fly in 2d mode, so yes please do it, I am sure it could sell very well and is the perfect aircraft for short schedule and in Orbx scenery could be fun.
July 28, 201213 yr I agree about your point, but using caps and a different font for getting your point across is very bad etiquette. Johan Pettersen
July 28, 201213 yr I'd support a new ATR for FSX, too. But please don't do the pax version only, but also the cargo plane (and maybe a 42 and a 72?) Florian

Great, now I have your attention.Sorry for my brute force with the caps above, maybe immature but I feel it was necessary, I hope you think so too. I still feel, those functions wouldn't be there if we weren't suppose to use them. EDIT : Also, the following text that is bold and then patches that aren't bold that is unintentional. I just wanted the foreword to be in Bold and Caps, to get the point across, it's all a part of selling it. 2nd Edit : Thanks guys, I really do hope things change up in regards to the ATR.
July 28, 201213 yr Commercial Member Yeah good ATR series would be nice... Flight 1 ATR 72 for FSX is very buggy, and there isn't proper ATR 42 at all, all freeware ones I could have found have weird flight dynamics... In the end I bought old Aerosoft ATR made for FS9 and added freeware panel to it & fly it in FSX, flies really nicely.

Definitely that Q400 is a must have after release. Hope they ever get the time to build the ATR though.
July 29, 201213 yr What freeware panel do you have for the F1 ATR. Could you share a link? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
