June 15, 200421 yr I'm not sure what you mean by spoiler efficiency. Increasing the magnitude of the lift factor, would increase the effectiveness of the spoiler throughout the range of operation. Increasing the angle would add additional (negative) lift while leaving the operation at lower angles unchanged. That might be more appropriate for better ground spoiler operation. I'm just guessing though. Here is a better forum to get answers:http://www.avhistory.org/scripts/MegaBBS/f...w.asp?forumid=5scott s..
June 16, 200421 yr Is there any relationship between a reverse thrust throttle position, spoiler deployment, and autobrakes? Any reason why ground spoilers would not stay deployed during reverse thrust?I'm thinking perhaps too early activity in applying reverse thrust would reduce ground spoiler effectiveness.

June 16, 200421 yr Bernt, have you transit from the CRJ to the 767?Austrian has quite a few MD80s (different series), but Lauda has only 3 B767s (as far as I know). When you say, that there are many pilots transiting now from the MD80 to the B767, there must be quite an overflow in pilots - or are there plans that some more 767s will be purchased?Wolfgang
June 17, 200421 yr Hi Wolfgang,Yes, a VERY nice change. But after flying the CRJ for more than 9 years even a bicycle would have be a welcome change.Together with the Scheibe C-Falke, the CRJ was the worst plane I ever flew!!! The MD80 pilots will change to the various airbuses,a few to the Fokker 70/100 and as we are getting 3 of our own 767s back,we need quite a few pilots for this fleet. RegardsBernt Stolle Capt 767
