Latin VFR Bermuda released

FS9er's will be glad to know there isn't a huge difference between the FSX and FS9 versions of Bermuda, despite the large difference in download sizes. The main difference seems to be in the quality of the autogen (both buildings and trees) which is better in FSX and certainly the trees seem far more in evidence in the FSX version! Although I suppose strictly this is something for the FSX forum, I am quite surprised by the frame rates I achieved on FSX flying a Carenado aircraft in Bermuda even on my aging rig! Certainly this says something about the quality of the product both for FS9 (FPS in the 70s) and FSX (FPS in the 30s). A great product highly recommended for either platform.

Awesome, Bill, can't wait to get it!

On my September's 'to buy' list.

Hope Oliver will AES it with 2.25.

I don't think you will regret that Rafal. It reminds me a little of Fly Tampa St Maarten with a really well modelled airport and lots of autogen for the islands, all of which adds to the overall sense of realism, which is being increasingly achieved by developers today. I think this and other recent releases establish Latin VFR as now being in the top league.

Does anyone know if Latin VFR scenery works with Free Flow Bermuda scenery. Or does FFB needs to be deactivated.

Bill (Bigmack),

I don't know, but I would uninstal FFB if I were you. BTW Why would you need FreeFlow?

If you read the LatinVFR product description, you will see the whole archipelago was recreated. See:

We have completed (...) an entire island archipelago of this British overseas territory, with thousands of hand placed objects.

  • TXKF (BDA) airport completely modeled with significant attention to detail.
  • Texturing in HD mapping for all buildings and ground polygons.
  • Surroundings extremely detailed, most mayor hotels in the area, and other important landmarks.
  • Hundreds of hand placed static boats and ships.
  • all islands covered with photo scenery with hand placed autogen, featuring the entire island chain

Hi,

as Rafal said, we have done everything costalines etc of the entire islands. So free-flow is not longer needed, and ought to be removed for the scenery to work correctly. Nonetheless you can still manage to keep the AI ships that go around the island as they are somewhat compatible with our real world islands.

Thanks for the reply. In my download basket now.

Please ignore this comment - I have just realised that all of my FS9 trees have disappeared for some reason!! I don't think this is anything to do with Bermuda, but I suspect some tree autogen added the day before with the di Franco CYYZ freeware may be the culprit. Am searching the Avsim forums for an answer but haven't found it yet!

I'm trying not to spend as much as I use to on FSX. But I bought SBGL the other week, my first Tropical Sim scenery which I'm very impressed with, and now I know I'm gonna have to buy TXKF. DAL and AAL fly 737's into there but I can't wait to take a BAW 772.

Now that I have at last restored my FS9 trees, I have been doing a lot of flying this evening. I have to say that I have been absolutely amazed by the quality of this Bermuda scenery and in particular by the frame rates that I am seeing with quite demanding addon aircraft such as the Aeroworx King Air, with FPS rates comfortably in the 50s with all the sliders to the right. I don't quite know how Latin VFR has managed this with so much autogen but it is certainly impressive (even the FSX version was managing rates in the high 20s with the new Quality Wings 146 and in the mid 30s with the Flight 1 BN-2, on my aging system!). Thank you Ricardo - I look forward to you applying your talents to more and more areas!
