August 27, 201213 yr I got blurries in Orbx land with 0.10 and 0.15 0.18 was a little better, but 0.20 fixed it for me. Still a nice perf boost as well. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 27, 201213 yr Yes, I updated the guide with this: ORBX land needs 0.2. But if you are able to maintain FPS above 30 when 30 locked, you can get away with 0.15.

I only tested this change in Orbx land...and it didn't work for me but I was trying the lower values .15, .18, so I will try this slight adjustment as well to see if it makes any difference. However, I have a somewhat related question: I tried the following last night. Benchmarked using FRAPS I reset my Vsync to 1/2 refresh rate, from previous off position. I reset my Inspector to frame rate limiter to "off", and locked my FSX at 30 in the sim. I reset my monitor to 60 Hz from previous 120 Hz. So loaded up Myrtle Creek Oregon, I have enhanced that airport heavily enhanced with Peopleflow, vegetation, static planes, and all sorts of surrounding farm equipment, bales of hay, heavy grass all over the airstrip, lot of airport clutter. Now get this. Sitting on the rwy end, in FULL SCREEN mode I get a steady 21FPS with Cessna 172 idling. Switch to windowed mode, with taskbar auto hide (which is a performance improver) 30fps locked solid. Now explain that? Completely reverse of what you would think I should get. I flew north and switched in flight a few times between windowed and fulll screen modes, and my FSP were bang on 30 in windowed and 19-21 jumping around in windowed. Word Not Allowed, on another topic, I see the BP=0 tweak gives a good boost to frames over the reject_threshold line but as you get flashes with anything less than water at 2x high, do you find that the FPS boost is negated by adding the second shader pass with the higher water setting? I would prefer to leave water at 2x low but not sure if I can put up with the texture flashing. It seems like it may be six of one and half a dozen of the other....... August 27, 201213 yr .15 in Orbx was terrible... nothing but blurries even slower than 200kts... I guess I could experiment with .20. August 27, 201213 yr That was the same for me. 0.20 fixed it on my rig. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 27, 201213 yr do you find that the FPS boost is negated by adding the second shader pass with the higher water setting? No. The FPS with BP=0 and water high 2.x are better than without BP=0 and water lower (if you are flying ONLY over water then this is a moot point), especially if you are flying in the autogen loaded area. .15 in Orbx was terrible... nothing but blurries even slower than 200kts... I guess I could experiment with .20. When I'm not in orbxland everything is smooth anyway so this tweaks not for me It's very hard to say a number which is going to work for everything AND is low at the same time. It all depends on your settings. 0.2 or about is generally a number that should work for a fast machine.
