August 31, 201213 yr Using my LES DC-3, I will have the greatest time reproducing the "Colonial Routes" that TAP (the old Airline of Portugal) used between Lisbon and Luanda - Angola, Lourenço Marques - Moçambique. I'll try to use the same timetables and routes used by TAP, and am now collecting historical material about it. Then the An-24 and learning those "weird" Russian navigation techniques will follow, that turn around in Russia :-) I've also heard bush flying and mountain flying can be really rewarding in X-Plane, with some excellent scenery areas for it... This all, plus the glider flying that also works great, using the default thermal and slope winds model, will certainly keep me busy for quite a while... It's all there waiting for me / you :-) A very big THANK YOU to LES for their outstanding dc-3 and to Leen de Jager for his TAP livery-paint. August 31, 201213 yr Missions, adventures, challenges. Just the addition of some serious stuff in this area with the default release would lead to a great many more flight simmers switching to Xplane. IMHO of course

August 31, 201213 yr Author TAP "OLD" Portuguese airline? We still had it yesterday That's because I'm able to read that bright Miguel Relvas mind... RTP was the 1st, TAP will soon follow :-/ Joke aside, I meant the designation - Transportes Aéreos Portugueses :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
August 31, 201213 yr Yeah, they'll find a way to ruin it :( Anyway, i was just teasing  CASE: Fractal Terra Silver CPU: AMD R5 7800X3D 5.0Ghz RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 GPU: nVidia RTX 4070 Ti SUPER · SSDs: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 PCIe · PNY XLR8 CS3040 2TB M.2 PCIe · VIDEO: LG-32GK650F QHD 32" 144Hz FREE/G-SYNC · MISC: Thrustmaster TCA Airbus Joystick + Throttle Quadrant · MSFS2024 · Windows 11
September 1, 201213 yr Commercial Member A very big THANK YOU to LES for their outstanding dc-3 You're welcome! Glad you're enjoying it.
September 1, 201213 yr How is any of this related to missions? I assumed you were referring to fsx style missions? It's one thing planning a flight and flying it but its not the same as a well designed mission that might have well done voices, failures, tasks etc.
September 1, 201213 yr Author It's one thing planning a flight and flying it but its not the same as a well designed mission that might have well done voices, failures, tasks etc. True, but I can still create my "mental" missions / challenges, and with aircraft like LES Dc-3, failures are a factor too if you don't do things by the book :-) Anyway, I believe that type of structured missions will most probably be introduced by 3pds latter... It takes it's time, but X-Plane10 is converging towards a stable release, and from then on, there will be even more room for development and pushing for our imagination :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
September 1, 201213 yr The only reason I posted is because I used to do some missions in FSX and I thought you had found some good ones for xpx.
