Voice Recognition Headsets

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience with using designated speech recognition headsets

with MCE?

Some product examples would be Sennheiser ME 3, Audio Technica  8HEmV, or

Andreas Electronics ANC-750.

I'm in the market for a new headset and would like one which will enhance

MCE's speech recognition capabilities since I will feed all other sound

through external speakers and only ATC (+co-pilot) voice through the

headset.

I've even considered using a real world aviation headset but have read they

can be tricky to get working properly, often a cause of incompatible

circuitry (?).

I figured a headset known for voice recognition excellence might be a

smarter option than just a general gaming headset from Logitech, Plantronics (which I have now -wireless USB- but not pleased with the quality), etc...

Would greatly value your thoughts. Thanks!!

Alan

From experience, it will work ok with whatever you have, but best results, for any similar software, you get out of a noise cancelling mike.

I had to get a new headset after i broke my no name one, bought a MS noise cancelling one that was on sale at half price, and was astounded by how easier it is to get voice recognition working.

Not a necessity, but you do get better results.

Brands? For a low budget and good quality, Plantronics, MS and Logitech will serve you well.

For example I'm using the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 USB successfully. Plenty others.
