September 10, 201213 yr I don't have a million XP, nor am I a Gold Landing Master. I have not gotten all the Aerocaches yet, certainly not the Curvature of the Earth, nor am I any good at the Gold Rushes. But, I did just make my 500th landing in Flight: A lot of those were with excessive crosswinds! Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
September 10, 201213 yr With so many crosswind landings one of these days you'll get to the street and start walking sideways :-) Congratulations Luis! September 10, 201213 yr Moderator Congrats on your 500th trap, Luis! I read your thread over @ The Old Hangar, and had a thought for you Flight guys... With Alaska being rendered for Flight, the options for running bush pilot type runs make a perfect 'in' for some VA action... anyone game? How about posting some flights on some of the Alaskan VA sites like Alaskan Winds or BFU? The Maule, Carbon Cub and C-46 are ideal aircraft for this type of work and it could be fun to see the comparison terrain wise between Flight, ORBX, and the Glacier Bay scenery Holger created for FS 9. Any thoughts? Alan
September 10, 201213 yr Nice going Luis. You are not that far behind me, I just checked. I have 824 landings but also 751 crashes. Also 224 passengers but only 39 were happy, I did not think I would have any happy passengers. They don't think much of rough air or steep turns and rapid descents it seems. I do have 40,618 lbs of cargo delivered with 95% secure. Clandestine cargo is at 6,483 lbs with none intercepted. I think I see where my true calling is.
September 11, 201213 yr Author Hi Alan, Thanks for your thoughts. I agree completely with you, Flight is presently the best simulator for bush flying in Alaska and more people should be aware of that. I don't have much free time, though, and my flights are usually not over 20 minutes long (and I only spend about 5 minutes a day here at Avsim), but certainly other, more dedicated users of Flight should certainly consider your suggestions. Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
September 11, 201213 yr Luis, I'm not too far behind. Only 25 more landings and I'll have my 500. Thank you. Rick $Silver Donor EAA 1317610 I7-7700K @ 4.5ghz, MSI Z270 Gaming MB, 32gb 3200, Geforce RTX2080 Super O/C, 28" Samsung 4k Monitor, Various SSD, HD, and peripherals
