Which aircraft has the noisiest cockpit? And.....

I think the PMDG JS4100 is pretty loud. Super loud actually.

I recommend reading the brochure for the real plane. It's fun. http://www.greekisla.../images/j41.pdf

Many years of experience gained with the Jetstream 31 was applied to the noise reduction on the Jetstream 41 both in the cabin and externally.

Technical overview

Rugged structure

Well equipped flight deck

Simple flying controls

Quiet efficient powerplants

Low noise characteristics

Landing Gear

So it has a landing gear. :P Which comes in handy at times.

But, same as you, I've turned down the engine sounds because those many years of experience and the low noise characteristics drove me nuts. ^_^ Great plane by the way.

How does the sim model compare with the real a/c?

I don't know I haven't flown a desktop sim in years.

I'd have to say [from cabin perspective] that the A330-300 is by far the loudest airliner I've ever been on.

A few months back, I was on a Delta 330-300 from Rome direct to Atlanta.

The flight was full and we were quite close to max TO wieght. It is a understatement to say that the takeoff was *intense.*

The roar throughout the cabin was incredibly loud. The acceleration also was very powerful and pushed me hard into my seat. It was one of the loudest most incredibly awesome things I've ever heard. - It literally gives me goosbumps everytime I look back on it... :Big Grin:

That's why they fly with their ipods active. Wait.

More seriously, was the cruise part very loud too? Means the winds fighting the windscreen and wipers and perhaps some probes.

was the cruise part very loud too?

No... Once we leveled off at FL330, cabin got nice and quiet.
