Diamond Twin Star - Iris or Eaglesoft?

Featured Replies

I have the Iris product, and although I don't fly it much, all I can say it that it seems pretty nice. I don't remember any problems. Didn't even know ES had one out.

Eaglesoft for sure.

How is the G1000 in the ES version? Is it more functional than the G1000 in the FSX c172 or is it more of the same? Do you know if the Mindstar G1000 will add significantly more to the experience or is it a "nice to have"?

It's more functional, but not as detailed as the Flight1 C182 or Mustang for example.

Anyway you can merge it with the Mindstar G1000 (payware).

Thanks for the response. By merging do you mean replacing the ES G1000 in the panel with the Mindstar G1000?

My thoughts too.

IRIS model looked ok but the interior and fde is bad. For the price I suppose it's fine, but I'd still get ES version.

Eaglesoft DA42 Twinstar is a complete package as delivered. The FDE is signed off by a real world DA42 Pilot.

It is suggested that folks who own the Mindstar G1000 should exercise the option to do the direct drop in Integration to the Eaglesoft DA42 Twinstar package.

I totally agree. Picked that plane up in a sale, installed it, but I only once flew it. I just didn't like it at all. Don't know about the Eaglesoft one, though.
